Getting a MEB in AIT

Hey everyone I’m currently in AIT and just found out I’m getting a MEB and had a couple questions.

Will they be looking at my civilian medical files or are they irrelevant?

Can I have family visit me on post?

Can I use leave to go home?

How are the ratings grades?

I’ve heard the process can take 4months to a year, anyone know the average?

How many doctor appointments will I need to go to?

Thank you!

Have you been in service for at least 180 days? Is this an injury during training? The other questions are up to your command but IDES will issue a DOD rating and the VA will schedule exams to do their ratings.

Depending on your injury, you could ask you provider for convalescent leave, it does not count against ordinary leave.
