Hey thanks in advance. Here are the numbers:

1. RAS Gross = 2592
2. DOD Rating was 90%
3. 11 years and 5 months Active Duty service
4. 100% VA P&T, $3602, Spouse and 2 children under 18 (6,4)
5. CRSC = 50%
6. No other retirement.

Thanks again!

Hello @JSimo24,

Estimate.

A. 2592/0.75 = 3456 high three
B. Retired pay reduced to zero by amount of VA comp
C. 11.42 AD x 0.025 = 28.6% longevity multiplier
D. 3456 x 0.286 =988.42 longevity portion of retired pay
E. 50% CRSC: 950.43 + 53 = 1003.43

F: CRSC cannot exceed the longevity amount. Your CRSC will be 988.42 based on the info you provided.

Hey Ron, I just realized I put 50% and didn't even notice. It was supposed to be 60%. Is it as simple as a 10% difference, or is it a whole new calculation? Sorry, and thanks!

Hello,

In could have made a difference, but in your case it does not. Using the 50% rate, your approved CRSC percentage is higher than the longevity amount. At 60%, it would be even more.

The CRSC (longevity amount) shown here remains intact.

A. 2592/0.75 = 3456 high three
B. Retired pay reduced to zero by amount of VA comp
C. 11.42 AD x 0.025 = 28.6% longevity multiplier
D. 3456 x 0.286 =988.42 longevity portion of retired pay
E. 50% CRSC: 950.43 + 53 = 1003.43 [60% would be more than 1003.43]

F: CRSC cannot exceed the longevity amount. Your CRSC will be 988.42 based on the info you provided.
