Good People:

Do any of you have experience getting the VA to authorize a Hip replacement? It is one of the issues I was found unfit for, so in a perfect world I could just go in and request it. However we all know the VA universe doesn’t work like that. So if any of you out there have faced this issue please pass on your knowledge. I’m talking the ins and outs, Doctors apps, special paperwork, patient advocates, sacred rites, Voodoo rituals, whatever got it done in your case.

Thank you all for what you do.

buddy tried setting up his knee replacement through VA (traditional retiree with >50% medical) was told 2.5-3yr waiting list, in the OKC area, so he went through tricare instead. Wish I could give you more info, but his va doc was the one that said he would refer him for it and put him on the waiting list, so do not think there is more to it than getting your VA doc to recommend/authorize it.

Thanks thats good if I get Medicaly retired Tri care may be the way to go.
