How do you know if you have free VA dental?

Hi,

I just got my ratings today.

I have 0% for GERD with residual tooth erosion.

They also diagnosed me with bruxism because of a service connected PTSD. They say it is only a symptom of PTSD and is not subject to service connection for VA compensation.

They also found that I have TMJ but I didn't claim it and told me to open a claim

Does anyone know if i'll have free VA dental?

Thanks.

Thanks.

After reading it, I still don't understand whether or not I qualify.

Do I have a service-connected noncompensable dental condition?

I have 0% for GERD with residual tooth erosion.

I also have bruxism because of a service connected PTSD.

Thanks.

Hello gotqustions123,

I understand that one receives dental care if:
--100% permanent & total VA ratings (which I have)
--A service connected disability related to the mouth and teeth
--Dental problems associated with an another service connected disability (which might be your case)

These categories apply to certain treatments by the VA:
VA Priority Groups: VA priority groups | Veterans Affairs <---LINK

Use this info to determine how they apply:
See this VA site: VA dental care | Veterans Affairs <---LINK
https://www.va.gov/healthbenefits/resources/publications/IB10-442_dental_benefits_for_veterans.pdf <---LINK

You might check with your VSO or even call the VA.

Good luck,
Ron

Call the nearest dental clinic and try to schedule an exam. They will qualify you on the spot.
