How long until I am found Fit/Unfit?

I posted earlier but maybe this would be an appropriate place to ask my question as well.

I called the VA to check the status of my IPEB or any movementt, the man on the phone told me his system (CRM) was showing "Awaiting Discharge". I asked him if he had any information on my IPEB and he said that it did not specifically show a FIT/UNFIT finding.
My Benefits has been stuck on "Pending Decision approval" since 31May16a and my NARSUM and package was signed and sent 1Jul16.

Anyone know why their system would show "awaiting discharge" without any other amplifying information?

They told me that every time I asked, too, until they have an unfit notice or talked to someone who had insight on the PEB process. The VA won't actually finalize your claim until they have your DD214. That's why they say this because they don't understand you're in the IDES. Speak to another representative and they might know about this process. Until they get your unfit notice things won't move on the VA side, at least for me they didn't.

Hello Everyone, my case was accepted at the IPEB on 02 Jun16 and as of two weeks ago it was in "pre Va". However, my civilian liaison ("meblo" because I have not yet received my military "peblo) looked my case up today and it is now in "rating". Can anyone attest to this being a sure sign of being found "UNFIT"? My Meblo refused to say whether that was the case or not, just to cover herself if anything where to change in either direction I'm sure.

98% sure you've been found UNFIT since the VA is working on your claim. You can always call the VA to see if they received the UNFIT Memo.

Awesome, thank you for the insight. I appreciate it. I have tried contacting the VA before, but can't seem to get ahold of anyone any time I try. Would anybody have a number that they have tried calling at the VA that works? Thank you!

the va phone number is completely worthless. They dont know anything about the IDES process. Call this PEB number directly: 202-685-6418/6419. the 6418 picked up after about 3 days of trying lol. You have to be persuasive with them as they are not allowed to give out a lot of information but if you get a nice person to pick up like i did, it can be helpful.

What exactly is this number for? A customer service line for the PEB or what? Are they going to be like why are you calling if I ask about my med board? lol

it is the peb direct phone number for the representatives that work on the cases i believe. Just tell them youve been waiting longer than 60 days and they should be able to help, if its only been like 6 weeks they wont help probably because i called a month ago and they didn't tell me anything then i said yesterday it was 70 days and they helped. Good luck and post a reply on what happens tomorrow. Cheers! :)

Good to know. I will try calling tomorrow. The PEB has had it since June 2nd, I've already been rated by the VA, but it wouldn't hurt to give it a little push so I can sign my papers.

it seems im right after you as the peb had mine on jue 7th, and when i called that peb number yesterday they said i was in the pre-va finalization process for a fit/unfit memo and should know by friday hopefully. Did they ever say anything to you about the pre-va process?

No, I never heard any updates on my case until I saw my eBenefits change to Preparation For Decision then I knew I was unfit. 2 days later it changed to Pending Decision Approval then the day after I had a historical claim and I found out my VA rating from a representative there. I know my case is back at the PEB so I'm going to try and harass them because I want out ASAP.
