incap/medcon pay...bad idea?

My unit is pushing me to take in cap pay over medcon pay as my premedcon orders expired. I still need surgery and feel that I am intitled to medcon according to the AFI.

Should I take the incap over waiting for medcon?

Also, if I take incap can I be put on medcon once they are finally approved?
 
MedCon would be most advantageous financially. Don't settle for less than your due.
 
Well, the premedcon extension request was denied because it was filed too late. So now I'm on ST days until they can attempt to get the medcon orders...

Honestly I have no idea what I should be on. According to what I can read its medcon, but can I switch from ST to med on once the medcon go through?
 
MEDCON is active duty and counts for service computation. Incap is not active duty and does not count towards your active service computation. Also, incap can be less than full military pay and allowances. Push for MEDCON.
