Is SGLV expense worth it?

Recently medically retired with 100% VA award. 15 year old son, wife. No life threatening conditions. Have applied for SGLV extension but they are requiring a doctor's statement since I don't have an Unemployable designation. If I have to pay out of pocket for the insurance, are the premiums worth the coverage?

You need to switch your SGLI to VGLI and do so quickly you only four months to do it without providing proof of good health. People sometimes complain about premiums when you get into your fifties but because you are disabled most insurances will flat out deny you any policy. Once you get P&T you can apply for an additional 10k from the VA for free but you have two years to do it.
