I recieved an email with my flight itinerary. When i got to the airport today (nov 11th veterans day) the ticketing agent notified me that the reservation was made but was never completed and paid for. I called the emergency CTO/SATO number and the civilian agent notified me that all the military seats were full on all future departing flights.

Forced between a rock and a hard place I paid for the only available seat (1st class) out of pocket 50 mins before departure to the tune of nearly $700 for a one way leg.

In addition, because it is a federal holiday week the hotel government rates are all higher than normal. I emailed MMSR-4 about this and they still have not responded. Out of the hotels approved for reservation the lowest rate i could find was $286 a night. All military lodging was full due to the holiday week.

Will I actually be reimbursed? Or do I need to contact a higher power to get this mess straightened out.
 
For the mentioned scenario above, i am appealing my final findings and attending a Formal PEB. Which they scheduled the week of veterans day.
 
Unfortunately, I doubt you will be reimbursed.
