Howdy y’all. Came here because I’m looking for help. The long and short is, I’ve had a multitude of diagnosed and concurrent problems, most stemming from multiple concussions. I’ve been under the care of multiple clinics for 2 years now. I have yet to be coded and referred to IDES/MEB in the Chair Force. Here is a list of diagnosis:
- Multiple TBI’s
- Major depressive
- PTSD
- Unexplained syncopes (likely stress induced)
- Suspected Menieres due to multiple concussions
- Positional vertigo and dizziness, accompanied by nystagmus

The only one still in the process of diagnosis is the Meniere’s. That’s a separate problem altogether given that the audiologist is very reluctant to diagnose, even though the Neurologist, my PCM and my family member MD’s (only 2 of them) have pretty much diagnosed it on their own.

Is it odd to anyone I haven’t been submitted yet? I’m also officially an AF Wounded Warrior due to the TBI’s and PTSD. What are my options? I don’t even know what to do at this point.

Hey man,
So I am going to tell it how it is. If you are looking to get out and avoid doing your contract, try to ask your behavior health provider for a residential inpatient mh facility( 30 days). If when you return and your symptoms do not improve, you will be put in. Not saying your case falls into this but ptsd in my opinion is the new tinnitus ( a small percentage of the military is in direct combat. I am not talking about indirect fire while in a greenbean). It is the easy button to getting out and free income.

I should add that I do realize that ptsd can result from other things like MST etc.

Talk to your CC. They can initiate a MEB if they feel you're not able to perform your duties due to your ongoing medical conditions. Or better yet, talk to your shirt. They may help advocate for you to your CC.
