MEB Timeline Fort Bliss (Lower Back)

Hey guys, given that all the information I’m able to find online is super helpful for me I thought I would keep you guys updated with my timeline as well.

P3 Initiated: 10/29/24

Second P3 Signature: 11/06/24

PEBLO Contact: 11/12/24

IDES MEB Brief: 11/14/24

C&P1: 12/03/24

C&P2 and 3: 12/04/24

C&P4: 12/05/24

Final C&P: 12/11/24

12/18/24: VES calls me daily with updates but so far they have 3/5 uploaded to the VA, once they’re all uploaded my MSC will send it to my PEBLO so the Army Doc can write up my NARSUM

First off, you being alive is fortunate for someone. I am also at Ft. Bliss and have my initial IDES brief on 12/19/24, so I am right behind you. I will be paying attention to your timeline and open to any suggestions or advice you have.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. I’m new to all this too but I’m learning as I’m going along too. Agreed about your first sentence. Being here at bliss is not easy.

12/26/24: VES has sent all my C&P exams to the VA as of this afternoon
 
Finished IDES this year. From IDES brief 1/10/24 to PEB Findings (DA 199) 6/21/24. Approx 6 months (without major issues). Requested MEB Appeal for conditions but no PEB appeal. Had a buddy going along the same time frame. His PEB had an appeal that delayed his process another 4 months

I’m hoping to be out of here soon. My PEBLO and MSC said they think I’ll be done by February or March.
 
NARSUM was quick after CPs. March for MEB. VA ratings were 6/6/24, two weeks later I got my PEB Findings.

Reservist (TPU) we get “final” VA ratings so they’re not “proposed” ratings like AD.

BUT, if you have your VA CPs exams (which your PEBLO send to you) you can go thru them and get an estimate on the ratings. My OSC lawyer actually went thru my exams with me and gave me a good estimate on the ratings and she was right on target with the percentages.

The VASRD will tell you what measurements or symptoms add up to what percentages.

There are still lots of variables to consider cause the PEB can still go with TDRL or PDRL and whether the conditions are static or non static.

For me (TPU over 20 years) I was on PRDL which was a huge relief. This was one of the only times being a reservist helped. From what my lawyers told me, PEB usually will usually give TPUs PDRL. But I’m sure that’s not always the case. Each case is specific

12/30/24: PEBLO called me saying the provider should be calling me sometime this week to write my NARSUM. Also waiting on Commander statement but he is on leave. Happy new years I guess :/

Just make sure you tell your PEBLO and whoever you speak with at the Transition office that you're looking to get out ASAP. If you're not looking to take leave at all (although it may be beneficial for you to take TAA/ISAA (formerly PTDY) along with terminal absence, you can probably get an orders date 10 days out as that's how long it's supposed to take to clear your unit and installation. If you want to help expedite that process you could probably pre-clear your unit at least. Also, you can clear CIF early, but they'll likely want a memo with assumption of commander orders from your CO to schedule your turn-in date.

Hopefully you have good luck, mine was turned in to the PEB 12NOV and I still have yet to hear anything. Seen other people turn in on the same day as me and be notified a few days later. The biggest thing right now is keeping your head down at work and trying to keep your brain distracted from trying to follow up. Also you can try and start clearing some things if your unit is cool with it, I turned in my CIF with a memo from my BC.
