I am in the CG reserves on active duty and about to be placed before a Med Board for a mental health condition. If it goes through not only will I loose my position in the Coast Guard but my civilian job will be affected.

I have heard a rumor from one of my co-workers that I can waive my right to a med board which would result in me being immediatly be seperated and no severance package. Is there any truth in this or is it a load of crap?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not sure what benefit it would be for you to do that. You may be able to get off active duty but that probably won't stop them from doing a MEB on you.

Down load DoDI 1241.2

This is the instruction for reserves.
