Hello,
I am currently waiting on the VA to give me my ratings, but I figured I will share some feedback. This all took place on 07/08/21. Overall, what I found is the VA and the contractors (QTC) are basically lost children with an IQ to boot. Here is yesterday’s exchange.
Call number 1 to QTC: Have you completed all my C&P exam QA’s? Yes sir, we have, and they are all sent to the VA. Why then does your portal not reflect that? O, you can’t trust the portal its just there for reference. OK, so the portal is bad reference…etc.
Call number 2 to the VA: Hello, I was notified by QTC you have all my C&P exams is that correct? (Thick accent barley understandable and had to spell out some words) Yes, sir we have them all and they are with the rater, and they have been since June 23rd. OK, why has the story been different when I call prior? I don’t know sir I am telling you what I see now. I also confirmed this about three or four times with him.
Call number 3 to VA: Hello, I was told by your colleague that my disabilities are being rated is that true? No, sir it is not we have not received two C&P exams and they are in the gathering of evidence phase with the adjudicator. What does the adjudicator mean is that the same as rater? Yes sir it is. Ok so it is with the rater? No, it’s not and your questions are becoming redundant I need to help other veterans. Well, your answers are not clarifying my questions. Goodbye. Click (from VA rep). I was stunned at this response and not happy!
Call number 4 to the VA: Hello, your colleague hung up on me, and your other colleague gave me hard to believe answers through an almost impossible to understand accent, where am I at? You are in the gathering of evidence phase, and we are waiting on two C&P exams. OK, why does the website say different? You can’t trust the site it is not updated appropriately. This guy was very helpful, but he still could not give me law or data backing up timelines, only insider training he had for reference. Still no quantitative reference or accountability for anything said, done, or assumed. Plus he did not know his some of his own policy via VA manual, find that frustrating, if there is an update you need to follow suite.
Call number 5 to QTC: Hello, I was told that all my C&P exams are with the VA and the VA says otherwise, why? You have one exam at the VA and the other two are in QA. OK, so what is the turn around time and the next step. O, we need an appointment for you in order to verify TBI eye residuals. OK, well will this hold up my general C&P or will that go to the VA and get rated, while TBI get deferred? I don’t know that is up to the QA and then the VA rater. OK, so how to I contact both of those personal? You do not, you have to wait and see what happens. OK, so when will this take place. I don’t know. OK, thank you I will stand by for transfer in order to schedule the appointment we just discovered needed to be scheduled.
Call number 6 to VSO: Hello, (filled in with all those details). I can’t see anything on my end and I don’t know why you are getting conflicting answers. I will keep an eye on your claim and let you know if anything changes. Ok, thank (for no help).
So, as y’all can see this is just a peachy experience thus far. Lack of recourse and professionalism within the federal government and healthcare unions have really out done themselves. I will keep y’all posted, but for people hitting their head on a wall you are not alone. God bless.
