Not entirely sure if this is the correct section to post this but...

I am a title 32 technician who is starting the MEB process. I had a meeting with my case manager and the state BH specialist a few weeks ago and the idea of a no drill profile was thrown into the conversation. I have a temp profile which excludes me from essentially doing everything military wise aside from my aviation mechanic duties. They are hesitant to put me on a no drill profile under the idea it will disqualify me from being a technician before the MEB/PEB are closed out and even before my potential medical retirement from the technician program. Can anyone shine some light onto this issue? I have searched around on google and on the forum but can't seem to dig up anything similar to this situation.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

fwak1234, Have spoken to your State HR office? In general, you will not be terminated from your 32USC709 position until you lose military status as long as you can accomplish all aspects of your Position Description (PD). Attending drill is a military issue and does not directly affect your PD work requirements. There is a special NGB rule that Dual Status Technicians can remain employed by the agency (your State) while waiting for the MEB process. Each State handles the interpretation of this NGB letter a little differently, so check with your HR Office and read the specific HR policy on MEB processing. Once the MEB is adjudicated and a medical retirement order is generated, then you will be terminated by a 50 day letter under the Special Provision of Law that will entitle you to a FERS disability retirement. This type of medical separations in handled by the Retirement/Separations HR position internal to the HR Office. Do whatever you can to accomplish all PD work while processing through the MEB and be the most dependable and most on time technician possible because you have to be an employee to get the Medical Disability Retirement from the civil service. Best of luck!
