Just look at it this way guys...

You're still collecting a paycheck, and earning leave.

Im very anxious as well, but I try to keep my mind busy. One thing I've found, is don't monitor these boards so often. At one point I was on this website more than google! Now, I try to check it twice a day, and get updates, etc...

Eventually, you'll get that phone call (or email) and everything will change...

Good luck!

So talked to my action officer today.....
She told me that there was about 25 cases ahead of mine waiting to be sent back to their PEBLOs, but however mine was a not return to duty finding.....
Estatic that I'm not going to be dealing with the Active Duty Air Force much longer....but a little bit nervous though what the findings contain, even though I'm ready to fight for retirement.

How do you get the ## of your action officer? I would like to communicate with mine.

It was a fluke finding out....my PEBLO didn't remove her contact information from when he forwarded the message I was emailed about needing to be put on medical hold.

It was a fluke finding out....my PEBLO didn't remove her contact information from when he forwarded the message I was emailed about needing to be put on medical hold.

Funny thing.....I received the same email from my PEBLO about my MED HOLD yesterday and she actually forwarded the previous email message from AFPC/Medical Standards (the people who processed the med hold). In the email my PEBLO said "your med hold has been completed, please come by my office and sign your paperwork". Since I had previously signed a request for med hold, I didn't really think that was necessary. If there was some final med hold acceptance letter that I needed to sign for the hold to be completed, I was contemplating not signing it. I decided to call the Medical Standards people @ AFPC and ask if the med hold was complete and/or if I had the option to decline the hold after all. I called the # and spoke to a Sgt down there and he said "yes your med hold is good, It has been updated in the system already and you don't have to sign anymore documents. The request for med hold that you previously signed is good enough. There is no additional paperwork. It's a done deal". I thanked him and ended the conversation. Then today my PEBLO emailed me again saying "you need to come by my office and sign this paperwork" I again called the Medical Standards number from the email and got the same Sgt. He again confirmed that I was good and did not have to sign anymore paperwork. He said he would call my PEBLO and let her know the facts. I then asked him if there was an action officer assigned to my case and or if there was anyone I could talk to besides my PEBLO about my case to find out what stage of the process my package is in. He said "you know what, I'm going to give you a freebie since I have you on the line...I usually don't even accept calls from members but I'll look you up in the system." He asked me for my SSN and I gave it to him. He said the way the process works is your case manager reviews the package and then puts it in a box to await the board. The board consists of 3 doctors who will review your package for disability determination. He then told me "your package was received on 7Jan2010, reviewed by your case manager and put in the "box" on 11Jan2010. It's still in the box". He said that packages are taking 3 1/2 to 4 months for members to receive results (we all know it is taking a little bit longer than that according to all of our time-lines) and that I will be waiting another month to month and 1/2. I was hoping that he would have said that the package was being reviewed by the board or something other than "its still in the box". I guess I already knew that, huh? At least I got to hear it from someone @ AFPC, instead of being fronted by my PEBLO. Oh well.........back to waiting!

Abyss5150,

Just a pointer for you. Call Finance and make sure they also have your updated DOS. I also had to be put on Med Hold and for some reason, finance never got the update. Had to jump through a LOT of hoops to get my pay check on 1 March. If you have any problems, let me know, I have a lot of references I can forward you.

Likewise, if anyone is having this problem, let me know! I'd be glad to help you out!

Ferk Out.

Received my results back this week: they were what I expected. The summary written by the board was very succinct and accurate. It is obvious they spent a significant amount of time on the case, as I imagined; however, the timeline could have been quicker. My advice to everyone on this board is to sit tight and realize AFPC is doing the best they can with the manning they are allocated. In the meantime, I would recommend those waiting for a decision to take some classes (I knocked out 18 credit hours for a degree), take leave, and do anything in your power to avoid trolling this board 10 times a day. You'll drive yourself, your significant others, and your coworkers crazy otherwise.

Have a great one and I wish you all the best of luck in your personal situation.

Congratz Fgtrplt03! Glad to see some results flow through here. Looks like your time-line ran approx. 5 months. Hope you got what you were hoping for. Good luck with everything.

Jul 2008 - Rilo for Asthma ( Cleared to come overseas )
Nov 2008 - Turned down for Deployment because of Asthma
June 2009 - Rilo came back and said " Recommend Full MEB
Oct 2009 - Completed the Narrative Summary with my Doc
Nov 2009 - MEB sent to the IPEB
Mar 2010 - Recieved Results 30% TDRL
Got my orders today!!!

Just wanted to put my timeline up here

I don't know why it is quicker for some people and slower for others. I only had one condition to be rated. Maybe that's why it didn't take as long. But everyones timeline is different. I also heard some people are waiting longer for grade determination and quality reviews. I don't know how much truth is in that but just something to think about. I hope they set up that second board and everyone , especially the ones who have been waiting a long time, get their results quick.
