Has anyone recently used the OAC?

I got in touch with someone on Monday, and I got told that my attorney hasn't even PCS'd in yet. Little worrisome about that given that my 10 days for my VARR expiries on Monday and I'll have to either get an extension or submit what I've already created.

Was just wondering if any USAF people had used them and what this part of the process looked like.

They don't seem to function unless there is a dire emergency. They say it is because they are so swamped with work and honestly, I believe them. But it is really frustrating to be in a situation like yours. The only time I ever got to speak to my assigned counsel (which was changed three times over three months without me ever speaking to a a lawyer and without anyone telling me my counsel had changed) he was very helpful and attentive. It might just take a bit of resiliency over the phone to get to someone who can help fix your problem. Ask to speak to supervisors? I refused to let them call me back, and I instead waiting on the line until an attorney (not my assigned) had a free moment. I had to wait about 15 minutes, but that 60 second conversation completely changed the course of my case for the better. Well worth it. GL

I used mine last in 2016. He was on leave when it came time for my VARR. Between my PEBLO and the OAC they filed for an extension with my case manager (I believe) and everything was taken care of for me, it gave me a few more weeks based on the availability of my attorney.

Yeah, I'm afraid of that. I am more than willing to be patient for the difference, but I was hoping to not have a 20-30 day stall anywhere in the process.

Oh well, a few more weeks of staring out my window.
