Orders timeline/out-processing

I received my proposed ratings and sent the requested signed forms and pre-separation worksheet to my PEBLO last week. He stated it shouldn't be long to get orders. Just wondering on average how long everyone else had to wait for orders and also were you able to do anything out-processing wise without your orders? I'm overseas and worried with only 15 calendar days to out-process if I will be able to schedule travel or HHG pick up or not. :(

I am in a similar situation. Submitted the signed forms to my PEBLO 13 March and still do not have a DOS yet or orders uploaded in PRDA. We are fortunate to be relocating within a couple hours from my base and can DIY most of it. Not sure if we'll get reimbursed for moving before receiving orders, but saving receipts anyway. Tried to start outprocessing early also, but couldn't find any gouge on where to start without a checklist and orders. PEBLO said to keep waiting and they'll call me with any updates. It is frustrating trying to plan for our families and informing potential employers without a definite DOS and orders to back it up. Can't imagine doing this overseas. I have a family of 5 depending on my income. Hurry up and wait might work for the Air Force, but the rest of the world moves on while we are waiting. Ready for this season to be over. Best of luck.

Definitely frustrating especially overseas... I'm most worried about getting my kids to the earliest date they can withdraw from school without having to enroll them to finish the school year back in the states. I have quite a bit of leave I'm hoping to take a portion before officially starting Out-processing to buy time for them to finish. PEBLO said I can take leave and complete out-processing in any order I prefer. I'm hoping taking some of my leave before out-processing will also help with coordinating HHG and everything. I also have a family of 5 and ready for the next chapter is an understatement. Trying to stay patient for orders...

My leadership wrote a memo saying I was mission essential and asked afpc to extend me 30 days. I was really worried about making it to the end of the school year. You do get a little more permissive leave being that you are overseas, if your commander approves.

I spoke with TMO last week and they said dod wont reimburse anything without orders. The orders are what tells you what expenses the dod will cover. So if you spend anything prior to having orders they arent oblivated to pay for any of it. Kind of stupid but i figured since I just asked this question and got the answer I might as well share it.
