I received this response after inquiring anout my status recently:

"Once your application was signed by the AF DDA, the PDBR no longer is involved
in the process. The service retirements section becomes your POC.

Respectfully,
Physical Disability Board of Review"

Does anyone know who I would reach out to as a former United States Air Force service member to get additional information? I had my Survivors Benefits Briefing back in May and I have heard nothing since then. No correspondence, no white envelope, nothing at all.

Try calling AFPC: 210-565-0102. The person I talked to was pretty helpful. She stated she had found my paperwork, had it moved to retirements and said call back in 10 duty days. When I called, I told them my records were being changed from med separated to retired and that I had sent back DD-2656/SBP election over 30 days ago. I purposely left out "PDBR" as they are no longer in this process according to the email I received from them.

On the 10th of September I wrote to the MyPers help desk:

I am writing to inquire about the status of my case. I got a letter dated 4/13
stated that my case was complete and the next step was for me to attend a
survivors benefits briefing which I had the end of May. My understanding is
that my file is then sent back to the board to be reviewed and finalized. When
I reached out to MyPers to inquire, they instructed me to reach out to you
directly for help. Are there any additional updates available at this point?

I got this as a response :

"Good morning! Your case hasn't been closed out yet. It is currently going
through the approvals portion of the process. Once the approvals portion is
complete, your case will then be moved to case closure. Once your case is
complete, I will then send all necessary documentation to DFAS and send you a
copy as well. Please let me know if you need anything else or have any other
questions. Have a great day!"

It seems as though nobody knows what's going on. I keep getting different answers and time-lines.

Did you receive the letter via mail from the board stating your records are being changed and the memorandum with the directive to the chief of staff directing them to change your orders?

Forward the response you got from MyPERS to the PDBR board and ask for an update:[email protected]

Let me know if the response you get is the same as in your original post.

Just added you to a private conversation with additional contacts.

This is my most recent response from the Air Force Personnel Center :

complete, your case will then be moved to case closure. Once your case is

The wait continues...

I received this same email from the PDBR when I first emailed them. This was after my PDBR case was approved.

If AFPC has the directive to change your records, you should be getting these in the mail. Did you try emailing the PDBR again?

I would call AFPC retirements and tell them you have been waiting (note sure when you received your memorandum letter) and need to know where you are at in the process.

I am not sure what they mean by, "you are going through the approval portions of the process"? Everything has already been approved through the PDBR process, directive has been sent to AFPC and now AFPC is being directed to change your records.

When did you receive your memorandum again?
