Reserve Seperation Pay

I need help.

I am appealing my board and if it goes through will probaly get around 20%. I know how to calculate severance pay.
My question is thus:

As a reservist, when multiplying by years of service, is it total years or just "active" duty years?? People keep telling me it will only be my 3 active years. But looking at this here:

MyArmyBenefits - Fact Sheet

It looks as if it will be my total years up to 12. I am a SSG with 14 years and would be really upset if I had to take a 3year severance.

Let me know!!

As far as I know it is by points. Take you points and divide it by 360 and you will get the total numbers of active duty years.

There is a something in regards to severance if your injury happened in a combat zone it would be a minimum of 6 years service.

Example

You have a total of 1800 points, divide that by 360 and you will get credit for 5 years.

Here is a link to the DODFMR that covers separation pay:
Physical Evaluation Board Forum - PEB Library - DoDFMR 7A, Separation Pay

Yes, it is total active duty time, plus reserve points divided by 360.

Some wrinkles to this:

Remember, minimum years is 3 (if injured in combat zone, it is 6 years).
You can only count 60 points from any one year.
Maximum years are 19.
