I will retire on March 2022, after 6 years active 16 reserves. I have deployed multiple times and will be eligible for retirement pay at age 58. However I do not get Tricare until I am age 60. I am being told by another member that I can keep my tricare after retirement since I have a VA rating of 60%. The information seems murky at best and I have been researching it online. I am being told that if I get a physician liaison to enter my VA rating into DEERS I can keep tricare for my family at a cost much lower than selecting the Tricare Reserve Retired amount at about $1200 per month. If anyone knows what exactly it is that I am being told and if it is the case where do I find a "Physician Liaison"? Thank you very much for any answers.
