Seeking better answers for my asthma

I was diagnosed with Asthma for my prior MOS that required a physical examination. I was taken to get a PFT (pulmonary functions test) after and it was confirmed. I didnt think anything of my shortness of breath because I assumed I grew out of it. I had to pass spiromoties(?) to enlist in the Marines which I passed. I had to use my inhaler for a field meet recently and a Corpsman asked about my history. I am currently on Flovent, 250/50 Advair, and I have to keep an albuterol inhaler on me at all times especially for PT. They already said its a possibility to get med sep but I wanted to know my options. I have in my mind they are just gonna keep me and try to control it. I guess what Im asking is what is the process like and what will make them want to separate me? Im also a 1371 Combat Engineer if that helps. Thank you.
