Severance and EAOS estimation

Good Afternoon,

I accepted and signed my ratings from Va And DOD Monday, June 03,2019. They were sent back to the PEB that same day. What is the estimation time of when I’ll receive my soft orders/new EAOS? Also, when are you supposed to receive your Severance pay?

So, I am in the same boat. I accepted my findings on June 18. I talked to MMSR-4 (Marines), and they said it takes 2-3 weeks for them to get it from the Med Board (it has to go back to get signed again by the President of the PEB), and they do the EAS change rather quickly. However, when I called them I asked for an estimation, for planning purposes, and they told me what my exact EAS will be (but it wasn’t “official” until they received my index from PEB). As far as severance goes, it gets sent from PAC to disbursement after you are dropped (they day after your EAS). They estimate 21 days until it’s paid out.

Re: “PAC to disbursement”

You probably know this, but “disbursement” is made by DFAS.

After receipt of payment, please report the length of time you waited for it. Questions regarding timing are frequent on this board.

Thank you,
Ron

Great feedback. Thanks Nate! They actually sent my accepted findings to HQMC by mistake (I’m navy) so I had to get that rectified. Now that it is with the PERS, I am curious on how long it will take to find out my new EAS.

Yep, tracking it’s DFAS. I said disbursement in case others didn’t. I’ll post my timing when I get it. Btw, anyone in the MC here? I’m trying to see how long after signing my findings I should get my new EAS. I’ve been told 7 days by one IDES employee, 10-14 by another, and 3-5 weeks my Separations and Retirement.

I’m in the same boat...everyone gives a different timeline, depending on who they work for (IDES, PAC, HQMC)

I got my new eas about a week after signing my findings. I signed on a Tuesday, called HQMC on Thursday and politely asked the status and the nice LCpl said she would get it done and it would be posted by Monday and it did! I signed March 15th and my new eas is June 29th. I was told I wouldn’t get my final pay and severance pay until Mid July but my final pay is already pending so we shall see when the severance pay hits. Good luck.
