SSDI hearing stage

Hello forum.

I'm AD USAF, 70 DOD/100 VA, TDRL, waiting on my orders to drop after having requested the 27th of this month to be retired. I also applied for SSDI months ago after I was tagged as a wounded warrior and told I could apply through my case manager. Did it all wrong of course, thought I was gainfully employed even though I wasn't allowed to carry a weapon etc. Denied. Reconsidered. Denied. Went to apply again with the knowledge I gained through these forums etc. as a new claim and was called and seemingly "coached" by an SSA rep to request a hearing instead, she noted I had no SGA, had gotten worse, collected and included final proposed ratings, and I received a form letter for new info that was tagged for fast track and finally identified me as a WW. Now my case has been at pretrial review for around 60 days and I'm wondering what, if anything, I can do. 1800 number yesterday told me the expected wait times are 18 months and didn't sound like he had any notion about fast tracking.

Should i hold fast at the federal level, or would it make any sense to reapply at the state now that I have final ratings etc and multiple agencies determining my disabled status in hopes of a rapid turn? With a wife and 3 kids and the final day in sight I'm getting worried. Any advice associated.

I’m sitting right at a year and a little change. I have my ALJ hearing this month, after being continuously denied because I made too much on AD, which is bogus. Nonetheless, I have no idea what to expect or what will happen but I did get a letter informing me that a specialist will be in attendance to attest if I’m able to work. Interesting. I’ll see how it goes and if you have any questions maybe I can help answer.

I had ssdi hearing October 24 2018. Called ssdi ODAR office and they told me decision was made now wait on writer, any idea what that actually means and how lo g that takes

A case record will be completed based on the hearing and the ALJ's decision and reasoning.

My hearing was about 30 minutes, not what I expected because I was kind of nervous but he really didnt asked me to many questions. My lawyer said he granted my disability but can really depend on nothing until it's in writing. Hope everything goes well for you tomorrow just be yourself.

So I had my ALJ hearing after waiting a year. Took one hour. No attorney. Mine was actually very in-depth but didn't focus on all my issues, primarily my absences from work and if I felt I earned my money on AD or if just given to me due to my disabilities. Judge wanted more evidence which I have. Will see. Interesting was the Vocational Expert came in and the judge asked him to leave that it wouldn't be necessary for testimony...don't know how to take that.

Wow you just never know what to expect with this stuff, hope everything works out brother
