Timeline for MEB Mayport Naval Station

I did some digging and found this in SECNAV M-1850.1 Chapter 4 section 1 (B)

" IPEB. The IPEB reviews the case file and makes initial
findings without the Service Member present. For IDES cases,
within 15 days of receiving disability ratings from the VA
Disability Rating Activity Site (DRAS), apply the disability
ratings using the diagnostic code(s) provided by the DRAS to the
Service Member’s unfitting conditions and publish the
disposition recommendation."

I am not sure if this includes the QA phase or not. The portion that describes the QA phase did not have a specified number of days required to complete....

At least this is an idea of the expectation of when to receive official findings once the VA claim is finished. Whether or not this timeline is enforced by anyone that's a different story lol. I also don't know if non-working days are computed in that total day count
that’s some good info! Thanks!

My PEB was accepted JULY 26th dont know if i should start calling the VA or not but will be starting to make moves like that in the next couple weeks. Best of luck to you guys. Im USMC btw.

That may be in the regulations but there is no mechanism to hold them to that timeline. Since there is no way to enforce it there isn't anything to hold them to it. So It can take as long as they need it to take and no outside pressure will cause that to change.

Just thought I would enlighten you. Some people here that have had their IDES cases drag on and have complained, filed an IG complaint and a congressional inquiry without anything happening.

100% no need for enlightening here I literally said it's not likely this is enforced by anyone lol

So we share a very similar timeline. Don’t know when my PEB was accepted as my PEBLO doesn’t talk to me anymore lol. But mine was sent out on 11JULY. I just called the VA and they said my case is NOT closed and they don’t know who said it or why I was told that yesterday. They said I’m still in the decision phase. So I don’t know what to think anymore

My peb package was submitted 26 June, but I also claimed 85 things, so prolly self inflicted.
That’s wild! I’m sure once they eventually get the ball rolling with claims yours shouldn’t take much longer. Just a guess though. It’s starting the process that probably takes forever. I claimed maybe 16 things in total.

Just called Jeff at the PEB. He said my case was sent to the VA 2 days ago (13AUG). He said give them 2 weeks for a rating. Taking that last part with a grain of salt, but at least I finally got some kind of update!

I was told today I'm waiting for the meb to finalize their side and that I hit 100% but it was all just in an email with my msc. Hopefully soon, debating calling afpc.

Update!

My claim still shows nothing in the app and website. But I actually just got a call from my MSC (first time speaking on the phone) and he said my proposed ratings came back yesterday! 100% VA!
I called the VA to ask for them but they said to try Monday because the benefits letter isn’t inputted yet. Still waiting on fitness determination from PEB but they have it for action. PEBLO said next week maybe week after for findings.

Total time in PEB: 56 days

Hell yeah congrats man you’re almost done. I’m hoping my claim is done soon cause the PEB sent my case to the VA a day after you

Thanks man hope you get yours ASAP! I’ll be watching and will update when I get something new

I just got off the phone with a VA rep and she told me that a team was assigned to my case September 4th so hopefully that means something

I got my proposed ratings yesterday! Proposed 100% hopefully nothing changes with that, fingers crossed. I'm hoping for my findings next week or the week after.

Update:

8 Apr: Started MEB Process

13 May: Initial brief with PEBLO

22 May: Legal phone appointment

30 May: First C&P Exam

19 June: Last C&P Exam (7 Total)

02 July: All DBQs uploaded to Tricare Online

08 July: PEBLO received all DBQs. Signed NARSUM for all 3 referred conditions

11 July: Convening Authority signed off MEB, forwarded to PEB

06 September: Received Proposed Ratings from MSC and PEBLO: 100% VA
(57 days at the PEB)

07 September: Claim Closed on VA.Gov

PEBLO said I should get my DoD rating next week possibly the week after. Going to call the VA Monday to get my proposed rating emailed to me (even though I already know it)

Update:

16 September: Called Jeff he said my case entered QA this morning and my findings should be back in about 2 days.

This is day 9 after claim showed closed.

Is it weird to get proposed ratings from VA when claim is not closed?
I’ve heard while you’re active duty the app isn’t the best guide. It shows closed for some people and it never closed for other so if you have proposed ratings I would totally go off of that and not the app
