Unused Leave Repayment

Need some help from the smart people here... I had 62.5 days of leave on the books on the day I medically retired and chose to sell them back. Questions:
1. I believe I am limitied to being payed for only 60 days by law, is this correct?
2. What base pay do they use to pay you back, the base pay for your current month or your high-3 amount?
3. What tax rate do they withhold at? 20? 28?

I just got the payment today and it seems a little light by like $2k.

The limit is 60 days. You can take to days terminal leave and sell 60.

You are paid at your current rate.

Should you take the days as terminal leave vice selling them back, you would accrue 5 days while being on terminal for 60 days.

I'm not sure about the tax; but I think your marital status and number of dependents would effect the withholding - just as it always has. Hopefully someone else can answer this question with certainty.

Yep, 60 days max! didn't know that going in but what's a couple days I guess. They tax the payment as a bonus at the rate of 25%
