Walter Reed Timeline-USMC

@Usmc7051

Hey, you're about 2 weeks behind us, give or take a few days.
Most of us received our findings on the 11th of April.
Considering that your case got sent to the PEB, 16 days after mine.
You should have a response from them around the 27th, if not the following week afterward. (Ballpark estimate)

Continue to be, as patient, as you can and make sure you're to knock out any of the transition requirements that you can (I.E. TRS/TAPS, etc.) or other things you need to knock out before transitioning out in the meantime.
Your time will come soon!
I’m hoping it’ll come sooner rather than later. Trying to start college in August. Spoke with my PEBLO and she said I was found Unfit on March 19th. Sent to “Case File Assembly” on March 21st. She said 3 months from March 21st I’ll hear something….. hopefully that’s incorrect.

That doesn't make sense to me but honestly, maybe you should talk with @Provis @chaplaincharlie
Maybe one of them can help you out in terms of understanding where you're at in the process.

@Usmc7051 Congrats man!

Everyone, I decided not to wait until the 26th to submit my election, and instead submitted it today.
Now the waiting game begins for a new EAS.

Has anyone thought about doing extensions for more time to transition and taking care of other things they need to before getting out?

Apparently we can submit a letter for an earlier EAS… you can get that from S-1. I considered an extension, but I plan on starting college in August so I think I’m going to try and get out as fast as possible. I know DMO is pretty backed up world wide though, so shipping personal goods might end up being a hassle.

Yeah for you I could see why the earlier the better. Hopefully you can have it be as early as you'd like!
If you haven't signed up for a school already consider trying VRE to set you up for school before using the GI Bill.

For me DMO is one of my concerns. As much as I want to be out right away. It suits me to have an EAS in end of August. Because I can take PTAD/Leave towards the end of June and it would give me enough time to finish my medical appointments, plan DMO, check out of unit, knock out any other transition requirements, and look for an apartment before going on a well-needed vacation and taking a break from everything. Which I would love to be during July/August. So thats why I'm concerned for what my EAS will be..

I spoke to MMSR-4 yesterday and was told to expect it to take 2-5 weeks for a new EAS. Based off others, seems like it’s less than 2 weeks right now.

For all it is worth, I was told by the Lance Corporal they take our leave and PTAD into account for giving us a final date. I’m looking at about 90 days total so I should expect either 31 July or 30 August. He also said any extension under 60 days, BC level can sign off on.

I have heard you can get your S-1 to send an email to MMSR-4 and request a specific date, especially if you want an earlier one.

@Octopus_man

Appreciate that! I think my game plan will be, to wait and see what EAS they give me.

Then depending on that date, request an extension from MMSR-4, after talking to my S1.
To hopefully fit the timeline that I want/need.

It would be easier if S1 or I could just tell MMSR-4, that I want out end of August.

Just received a new EAS of August 30, i have 80.5 days of leave and will take incremental PTAD, hopefully starting terminal somewhere around mid june.

Congrats! About how long did it take to receive your new EAS? I’m still trying to talk to my S-1 to request a specific date but it seems like the people I need are never actually at work lol

Signed findings were submitted on the 15th of April so roughly 2 weeks.

I just checked MOL and they gave me an EAS of 29 Jun 2024. I'm going to request to get an either 30 or 60-day extension.
This doesn't give me time to do anything before my transition.

Has anyone else gotten their date or timeline yet? or any update? Just curious.

I am June 29th as well. Camp Pendleton CA. I’m already on PTAD for another reason right now and don’t think I’ll have time for outbound. I get back the 28th of May and have 11 days to do all of S1 and Outbound / Sign 214.

Yeah, the Marine Corps love f**king with people's time. They gave me an EAS of 29 June based off the amount of leave I had plus 20 days PTAD but didn't account for the time to transition (which should've been 30 days). So, I had submitted an extension for EAS in end of August and MMSR-4 denied it. You will most likely will have to just deal with doing everything on a time crunch. Have you done TRS/Capstone already?

Ya, I don’t have capstone or anything finished. Trying to get them to do an extension or do these appointments virtually. I think I’m screwed though lol. I had 30 days of leave, plus 20 PTAD, signed on the 31st and got EAS update last week. Can’t get back from recruiting until the 27th. I have a feeling ima lose my ptad.

Yeah, you're definitely going to be on a time crunch. What I would recommend is to take your 20 days of PTAD and a few leave days for Terminal leave and sell the rest of your leave. Unfortunately, you're already at a loss but it'll be a smart play to use PTAD, since it's free days. Your leave has value to it, and you can make some cash off of it, before getting out.

You can set this up/request this on your MOL Outbound Interview (OBI). Ask your S-1/IPAC any questions about using the OBI properly and they should walk you through it.
Best of luck, let me know how it goes for you!

I received my Medical Retirement package in the mail. Completed everything on my OBI and turned Medical/Dental Records into IPAC.
EAS still June 29, EDD June 7th. Will be selling 49 days of leave. Should be receiving the DD214 on the 7th of June.
Until then I will be packing up my barracks room and moving stuff into storage until I move.

How is everyone doing with their timelines, etc?

I've recieved my DD214 and Medical Retirment orders. Still doesn't feel real to me but I'm happy to be moving forward with my life.
I wish you all the best of luck moving forward in your lives. And good luck to those still on a board that are without any information. Things will pan out!

Semper Fidelis!

Best of luck. I'm on the cusp of learning my fitness determination so it feels so close yet so far. Congrats on escaping this process!!
