Any Navy recently go through a FPEB? I’m trying to gauge how long it took to get findings after the hearing. Specifically after the October shutdown. Thank you!
That’s a big gap my PEBLO said 2-3 months, my attorney said that’s a bit excessive and said for my case specifically potentially 1 month it’s been 21 days since my formal. Also following this. From what I am gauging from other forms, it could be as soon as 20 days or as long as 180 days, depending.
Thank you for the info! I would think the Navy would be just as fast as the other branches. I was proposed an “offer” prior to my hearing in which I declined and went through the hearing but doesn't the 3 personal vote on the outcome after the hearing? I guess I just don’t know the exact process after the hearing. From what I have seen regarding my clients and comparing notes with other civilian and military counsel, the answer really depends on your branch of service. The Navy averages about 3-5 weeks; the Air Force and Army are typically much quicker, often providing results within days after an FPEB. The Coast Guard timeframe really depends on the complexity of the case.
That’s wild. I’m sorry that you don’t have a date yet I requested a formal hearing and my letter came 5 days later for my formal hearing. Hopefully you hear something soon! Where are you located?Dude I requested an FPEB 20 days ago and my PEBLO keeps telling me she doesn't even have my formal board letter/date yet....I'm starting to get suspicious.
I'm also going through mine at JBPHH.... I'm praying for at least a board date this week. I get less confident every time I speak with my peblo. I don't think she is doing nothing but j don't think she's proactive either....she told me my stuff was going to the IPEB on a certain date and I watched limdusmart for like another ten days and finally had to hit her up and said, its still waiting for final signature and she kind of said "...oh".That’s wild. I explicitly asked my PEBLO again today and she said it's been taking about a month (I presume she meant to get the board memo....but that definitely doesn't track with your experience.) I responded and said I know she can only give me averages, but asked if I could specify average time to receive the board memo, how long after the memo date the board is typically scheduled for, and then how long after THAT she is seeing board determination come in. Is your PEBLO a woman with the initials GE? I believe there are only 3 for JBPHH.That’s wild. I request a formal board 19 March and received and email from legal in DC on the 24th saying my board was 16 April. Legal office told me it’s taking about 10 days to get a board date.I explicitly asked my PEBLO again today and she said it's been taking about a month (I presume she meant to get the board memo....but that definitely doesn't track with your experience.) I just received my board memo today and it's scheduled for the first week of May so I'm not sure how she thinks that but I hope for your sake it goes that fast!! I got told it would be 3-4 weeks for findings so I'm praying for end of mayMy PEBLO submitted my formal appeal on March 25 and I have not heard anything yet. My lawyer assured me that this whole process is moving much faster than before the shutdown and I would have a determination by the end of April. Hopefully it stays that way!
Is that 3-5 weeks from FPEB adjournment to findings, or from convening to findings? I filed my appeal on Feb 25 and have not heard anything since. Just trying to find out where I am standing timeline wise. From what I have seen regarding my clients and comparing notes with other civilian and military counsel, the answer really depends on your branch of service. Got it! Thank you for the information. I just found out my hearing is scheduled for 20 May, and I am trying to put together a timeline for retirement.Hi, I was referring to the time period from adjournment to findings. The Army often issues the findings at the conclusion of the hearing, the Air Force within a few days, the Navy about 3-5 weeks- unless there is a stipulated finding, i.e., an on-the-record decision. The Coast Guard, however, depends on the complexity of the case.
Do you know of any sort of process to request an expedited hearing or processing of results afterwards? I am held hostage until all of this is over and I am trying to move my family to our forever location before their new school starts. The more this drags out, the more it seems like I am going to miss their start date.Hi, I was referring to the time period from adjournment to findings. Good information. Thank you again.Your command can always put in a request for an expedited hearing date. However, before asking your command to request an expedited hearing, please make sure that your attorney- whether they are private counsel or your government-assigned attorney- is aware of what you are doing so that they are not caught unaware of this request, as the date assigned by the PEB may conflict with their own case docket. If it does, it is much easier for a private counsel to obtain an alternate hearing date. Government-assigned attorneys do not have that luxury, as the PEB staff will typically say, "... That's okay, Counsel. It just means that you will have six cases that day instead of five. We can just start earlier or run later. Which would you prefer?"
