Medical Retirement Orders

I signed my findings on 08JAN26, medical retirement (PDRL). I was wondering if anyone have or know of the timeline to receive orders and processed out. Have no idea of the timeline at this stage. So any information/insight will help. Navy here if that helps. TIA.

Copied over from a different post.

You don't just get medical retirement orders......there are a lot of steps involved to get there. So, just in case no one is guiding you through the process, here’s a little timeline. I put in the effort to speed things up where I could, and it made a difference.

Before you can receive your orders, your PEBLO must send your findings back for final approval. This process can take up to 14 days (mine took 13). Once approved, the documents are sent to PERS-454, who will issue a message traffic notification with your soft separation date.

Important: The message traffic notification is not your official orders, they give you your projected (soft) separation date. You still have several more steps to complete before hard copy orders are issued.

Once you receive your soft separation date, you’ll need to complete a separation package. This gets submitted to TSC through Salesforce and must be approved before your hard copy orders are released.

The separation package includes:

  • Medical sign-off
  • Approved of PTDY (Permissive TDY) or HH (House Hunting) leave, along with terminal leave
  • Completed and signed-off VMET and Capstone
  • Updated Page 2 and SGLI

All of these items must be completed and approved before TSC can cut your official orders.

I was told this could take up to 4 weeks. Again, I reached out this time to TSC and asked them to add a note to my Salesforce case requesting expedited release of my orders once approved.

Also, you can’t apply for a HHG or to ship your house hold goods without hard copy orders. If you move before your orders you are forfeiting all moving pay. So if you want that aid you will have to wait until you have your hard copy orders. And you won’t receive those orders until everything above is completed.

Thanks for the info. I have already submitted my separation package and I sent it to TSC minus the job/house and terminal leave. Still waiting on message traffic for "soft" EAOS date. From the cases put in by MNCC my findings have been with TSC since 16JAN26. So hopefully I can get a date before this shutdown again.

Sorry for the late update things have been moving pretty fast.

PDRL Message: 28JAN26 Received "soft" date.
EOS: 15MAR26
PTDY: 04FEB-25FEB26 (currently on)
TERMINAL: 25FEB-16MAR26

Silly question maybe but I just wanna know the orders process. Once you have orders and your out date, do the order list a PTDY date for house hunting and stuff or is that a date you chose yourself and your command approved?

Once the PDRL message comes out through message traffic (OIX). It will show your EOS and the next day you will be placed on the PDRL list. Mine is 15MAR26/16MAR26. For PTDY you are correct. You choose the dates and you command approves it. The way I did it I checked out the command before taking PTDY. Once my PTDY is done will roll into terminal leave until I am out. So I won't have to go back. Haven't received hard copy orders yet.

Hello. When did you receive your hard copy orders and dd 214? I’m on terminal right now, and my pdrl date is 16APR26. And I have yet to receive both unfortunately.

Same separation date and also on terminal. Haven’t received either as well. Called MNCC yesterday to check my case status and they said my CPPA just uploaded over 70 documents to start processing my stuff. Hopefully soon.

So, I was under the impression that once you get your PDRL message, you udo the separation package and submit that to PERS, along with something that says with the PTDY and Leave date, separation date is adjusted, and the hard copies and DD-214 come later. Is that correct? Or what does that look like? I'm awaiting final findings from the PEB after submitting a VARR and want to calculate how much leave I'll be able to take + the PTDY time. My intent would be to take the PTDY and then terminal, so as to not have to come back to the command after the PTDY (I'm trying to stay local).

My final active day was in the OIX message. You’ll do the separation package and submit that stuff to admin who will upload it for PERS, but when I routed my terminal I routed it to match what they put as my last active duty day already. I can’t really say how it would work or if they’d adjust it if you tried though. I was under the impression they gave you your final date and PDRL date, then you had to make the terminal/PTDY within that window.

I'll try and call them as well. Cause what is the hold uppppppppp lol. I need to do household goods, I'm assuming you do too. And it's peak season for them now I believe.

Did you receive the PDRL message via personal email??

What is the PTDY for? My command has denied everything from skillbridge to palace chase trying to keep people in place so I'm wondering if it's even worth it to try and get it if I'm still going to have to come into work while on it.
