Yeah I have 21 claims as well. But it doesn’t make a difference. It’s a first come first serve basis at the VA.

I’m guessing your PEBLO isn’t very communicative or easy going. They know if you were found unfit. Did they ever give you the IDES timeline paper?

You should have a fit or unfit decision from IPEB prior to the file being sent to VA/DRAS. If you were found fit, you would’ve been returned to duty already. If your waiting on VA ratings, you’re unfit. Also, statically across all branches, about 5% of people sent to the HQ (AFPC equivalent) are...

Had a guys ETS scheduled as last month. They force extended and the reason was for “IDES in process”.

@tsmith42 DoD and VA have different ratings because the VA is not affiliated with the DoD. It’s affiliated with the government. Think about the VA as a really really big and rich Wounded Warrior Project. Not the best example, but you know what I mean.

If you get DoD rating of 100%, you may not be able to work on the outside, and you will need to appeal at that point. 100% DoD rating rarely happens.

Yes. You have to do the math. 30% of your highest average 3 years pay, etc. It's an equation I don't know by heart.

Call Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) in Texas. They handle all scheduling. Tell them you're willing to travel north, south or east to be seen sooner.

I got sent to AFPC 9 Sep 2022, unfit on Oct 3, 2022. VA is backed up 13+ weeks for ratings. So just guess that you have about 4 months left once you get to the VA. It's hard to get assigned to a rater right now.

Going for retirement is worth it, but being 100% Disabled Veteran, you have so many resources out there for you. You still have VA healthcare, you can get additional coverage for less. In all reality, once you retire, TriCare is so much worse than most other insurances, TriCare "for life"...
