The VA finalize your claim yet? They still haven’t for me lol. They told me to contact my MSC for updates, but I’ve been out “officially” for 2 weeks, with terminal for like 2 months lol. Dumbass system.

I was told 7-10 days. It took about a week for my buddy back in March. Don’t know how June 19th will affect it though… Hopefully we all get them soon.

Technically yeah you’d get more money by just taking as much terminal and then selling whatever you have left over, but there’s reasons to EAS sooner. I’m getting separated not retired so I’m getting like 28k in severance pay and I need the extra funds for a down payment on a house ASAP lol.

CO is for getting an earlier EAS after you’ve already received the new EAS. Lets say new EAS comes back August 15th, but you start school August 20th so you want time to prepare. You call MSSR-4 and request an earlier EAS and then they’ll give you paperwork to fill out and your CO has to approve...

Yeah that’s why they add your leave days plus 20 days of PTAD. If you’re found unfit you rate 20 days of PTAD btw everyone. I believe it’s MARADMIN 17/140

So they calculate our EAS by adding your leave balance + 20 days of PTAD. Once you receive a new EAS you can request an earlier EAS. The guy on the phone said they’ll give a form to fill out and has to be signed by your CO. Gonna try and get out by June 30th lol wish me luck.
