I assumed I wasn't eligible for CRSC, but now I think I may be due to the PACT Act

Actually I believe the did go through my entire record, I had to mail them a CD the VA sent me. In any case, I believe I have a good enough chance for CRSC that the $2k for a lawyer will be worth it

I assumed I wasn't eligible for CRSC, but now I think I may be due to the PACT Act

I might be mixing up my services… I applied to NVLSP a few years ago, and they are the ones who took 2 years to reply from my initial inquiry to tell me they will not be taking my case. I believe I only sent them my VA Disability list, as well as my own denied applications/responses for CRSC. I...

I assumed I wasn't eligible for CRSC, but now I think I may be due to the PACT Act

It took 2 years, but they finally got back to me and said they won’t be taking my case. They also said that because they aren’t taking my case, they can’t tell me why.

I assumed I wasn't eligible for CRSC, but now I think I may be due to the PACT Act

Only update for me is that I had a 30 minute consult with a private law firm. They said they charged a flat fee of ~$2k to go through my entire medical record, assess what I could apply for, and do everything for me. At the time (this was 6 months or so ago), I couldn't afford that. However, I...

PACT Act for previously awarded disabilities for CRSC application?

I applied for CRSC for "Obstructive Sleep Apnea with Chronic Bronchitis". However, the Air Force denied my application for the following reason: "You claimed a disability which was incurred by Gulf War exposure. For this disability to be considered combat-related, it must be specifically...

If you are DOD TDRL/PDRL retired with less than 20 years of service please read.

Latest push is to attach the Major Richard Star Act to the next NDAA later this year. https://www.military.com/daily-news/2024/03/06/supporters-vow-not-give-stalled-bill-let-disabled-vets-collect-full-benefits.html I looked up the CBO's report of the bill (H.R. 1282, Major Richard Star Act)...

    Recent Bipolar Type II Diagnosis

First off, it's a good thing you were diagnosed now instead of later. Typically BPII symptoms worsen the longer they go untreated. I was medboarded for BPII as well. Bipolar, as well as a prescription for mood stabilizers, are not compatible with military service. Unless you heavily advocate for...

    PACT Act CRSC denied, wtf

Dude, thank you. I will get on that with the VA. It definitely isn’t proof that I was deployed, I have 8 deployments to the Middle East and I included 8 letter of evaluations for each trip as well as 8 air medal citations that describe my missions over the desert.

    PACT Act CRSC denied, wtf

I applied for tinnitis and got approved. In the approval letter, they said I should apply for another of my disabilities due to the PACT Act: OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA WITH CHRONIC BRONCHITIS Chronic Bronchitis is one of the PACT Act conditions, and so I applied with ample proof of my 8...

I assumed I wasn't eligible for CRSC, but now I think I may be due to the PACT Act

Tinnitis got approved, Dermatitis (for instrumentality of war due to aircraft helmets) was denied. What's confusing to me is that I didn't point to a "specific combat-related factor" for tinnitis. I just included my diagnosis, which happened at my home station, and claimed it was caused due to...

Anyone get unemployment benefits after a medical separation/retirement?

CA’s website says “Those that have served in the military for the last 18 months and become unemployed should call the EDD immediately for UI benefits.” I was stationed here in CA but didn’t pay any state taxes until I was medically retired last summer (I still live here). I know nothing about...

I assumed I wasn't eligible for CRSC, but now I think I may be due to the PACT Act

So with my medical records in hand, I think I'm only going to apply for my skin condition. Here's what one of my annual physical health assessments says about my seborrheic dermatitis, which is rated as DERMATITIS WITH PSEUDOFOLLICULITIS BARBAE AND MELASMA at 30%. I'm applying for this under...

What is the max possible CRSC in my case?

I'm trying to figure out what disabilities I should apply to CRSC. Some are cut and dry cases, others not so much, so I hope the cut and dry cases will be enough to max out my CRSC. 1. Gross retired pay on my DFAS RAS: 5342.00 2. DoD disability percentage: 70% 3. Active Duty time: 12 years, 0...

It has EVERYTHING, including things I didn't know about, like I totally forgot I had a mole removed to test for skin cancer

I assumed I wasn't eligible for CRSC, but now I think I may be due to the PACT Act

Just so everyone knows, I called my last AD clinic and requested a CD of my entire medical history... and they delivered. Now I have thousands of pages to sift through to try and find what I'm looking for.

    Bipolar unfit?

I’m not a psych, but those also sound like classic hypomania episodes, maybe with a dash of OCD. During one episode, I too went through my kitchen pulled out everything, threw it all away, bought all new matching everything, then found myself out in my yard at 2am with a bottle of vodka, a...

Do you get disability prorated for the month you medically retire?

I’m going over my pay and discovered that I didn’t receive any disability for the month that I separated. I separated on Jun 22, so should’ve I have gotten disability pay for the remaining 8 days of June? I did get my pension prorated for those 8 days (8 divided by 30, times my pension), but...
