I want to tell you about something that happened to me over the couple of years. I think a lot of people who own homes have problems with wildlife. They do not know what to do. When you hear the term suburban wildlife solutions you might think it is about getting rid of animals.. It is actually about stopping problems before they happen keeping people safe and protecting homes for a long time.
The Problem I Faced
I live in a area where there are houses and open land. So I see a lot of wildlife around my home. At first I heard some scratching noises in my attic on winter nights. I did not do anything about it I thought it would go away on its own.. After some time the noises got louder and happened more often. Then I saw some signs:
- Insulation was messed up
- There were animal droppings in my attic
- There was a smell
- I found holes near the roof of my house
This is when I started to learn about wildlife solutions. It is not about catching or removing animals it is about doing everything that needs to be done:
- Looking at the whole property
- Finding how animals are getting in
- Getting rid of animals in an humane way
- Fixing holes and broken things
- Taking steps to prevent problems
What I Tried

1. DIY Repellents
I used sprays that you can buy in stores and natural things like peppermint oil to keep animals away. These things worked for a while but the animals kept coming back. It did not feel like a solution.2. Blocking Entry Points Myself
I tried to fill holes with foam and mesh.. I missed some holes that I could not see. Animals are smart they just found another way to get in.3. Noise Devices
I put devices in my attic that made sounds. These things made the animals less active for a days but they did not solve the real problem. At this point I knew I needed help from someone who knows what they are doing.
Bringing in Professional Help
That is when I found wildlife solutions. What I liked about them was that they did not just focus on getting rid of the animal they looked at the problem. Here is what they did differently:
- They looked at my property including places I did not think to check like the edges of my roof and vents.
- They figured out what kind of animal was causing the problem. It was squirrels, not rats.
- They got rid of the animals in an humane way.
- They fixed all the holes and broken things.
- They gave me a plan to prevent problems in the future.
