Average time PDBR makes decision

I had a MEB (3 total) the last one found me " unfit for duty" with a rating of 10%. After filing with the VA, with four months I was rated at 50% most of which was for PTSD. All combat related. I did not know they were even doing this program until they sent my local DVAS a letter regarding the PDRB and wanted to review my initial discharge. I am currently 80% and have been awaiting my appeal for two years because apparently the c&p doctor can't read a c-file ending up with 26 pages of admin mistakes. I can't work due to my spinal stenosis, several immune disorders as well as the "test lots" of anthrax I received that has destroyed my CNS, MEMORY, BALANCE among countless undiagnosed disorders; so med retired would help significantly being a single mom of a baby. Anybody have an "average" estimate of time they take or if there is any way to communicate with the PDRB DEPT?

Side note: anybody on here get weird skin lesion that have multiple long roots and take almost a year to heal? VA has zero clue.

What did the military find you unfit for? Where you treated for the VA rated conditions while on active duty, or do you have an LOD if reserves, or guard?

The PDRB takes a while. It will be a long process. Go to their website, and they have a lot of excellent FAQs on the process. You need to make a claim, provide evidence that your other conditions were impacting your ability to perform your duties, and show the board why you should have been found unfit for the additional conditions.

I was found unfit for duty due to a surgery that went bad and my 1st metatarsal on my right foot was cut off leaving me with basically a "Mr. Deeds" foot. All my conditions are rate able by the VA and are in my AD med records. I've already filled out the dd form for the PDRB so I guess it's just another hurry up and wait?

What did they give for the foot rating? I assume that was your condition found unfit? What were the other conditions that the VA rated? Even though they are VA ratable conditions, it does not mean that DOD will find them unfit. Was there a duty impact to the other conditions?

Are you wanting to file to get the retirement benefits? Like the ID card, and insurance? Were any of your conditions combat related? The reason I ask these questions is because it as far as financial gain, you understand that the VA comp, and DOD offset if not combat related. The good part of being retired would be the above listed retirement benefits.

Hi Joe...

Sorry iTS taken so long to respond. Yes, I am hoping for my case to be adjudicated so I may receive the benefits of being retired mostly due to the health care for my son. As far as the VA goes my C&P ratings:

Superventricular Arrythmias: 10%
Tendon inflammation 10%
Tinnitus 10%
Superficial scars 10%
Eye Injury (unheralded) 0%
Limbo sacral ridiculopathy 10 %
Foot injury 20%
Panic Disorder 50%

All service connected
One happened in combat

After looking at the PDBR review boards it seems as though there has been a massive decline in adjudication
 
I have an update with the PDBR. My case just finished adjudication and it has been sent to the NAVY for the final decision. It has been with PDBR for a little under a year. I hope I get my deserved retirement.
