Need advice about FPEB

They have me on Gabapentin, the 600mg pill, 3x per day. I would be careful about the Lyrica. They put me on Lyrica, and I had some significant side effects. I gained over 10lbs in less than 2 weeks with that medication and caused significant swelling in my legs with being foggy headed and nauseous constantly. Needless to say, they switched me back to the Gabapentin. I do get bad pressure headaches everyday from the headaches have. They also have me get botox injections every 3 months for my headaches/migraines, however when you get a nasty pressure headache/migraine those injections only go so far. I will definitely let you know about my results when they come in.

Well I am getting real nervous now, I am under an MEB for cervical radiculopathy and Cervical DDD. Doesn seem promising to me that I would get over 20%

Just make sure you are continuing to be seen for your conditions and remember that it is going to come down to range of motion and then how it affects both your work and your daily life.

So update I received my call for when my appeal will be and people were correct when they said be prepared for the long haul. My appeal is set for Oct. 5th in Washington D.C. so now the process becomes even longer.

Oh my gosh, that's a ways away. Mine feels like forever too. I requested it on May 20th and it's not until August 25th. I still have not been contacted by an attorney, but with the holiday and all, I figured I would contact them this week and see if I had been assigned one yet and if I'm able to speak with him/her. Anyway, hang in there, that's all we can do.

I filed for my appeal last Thursday and they're telling me to expect late October to mid November. My wife will be 11 months pregnant at that point. Do they make any exceptions to expedite the process or move it until after the baby comes (not that I want to prolong this process any more)...

The waiting is the worst part. I've been in this crazy situation for over 2 years now, starting to get a bit stale.

Thanks and yeah it does seem like forever away but time has been going by so fast I am hoping it will be here before I know it. They told me that if I didn't hear from an attorney by August then I should call there and talk to some Major and get someone assigned to me. Hopefully both of ours will get the results we are hoping for, so far reading others results I feel at least optimistic about a better outcome.

Damn 2 years is a long time to be dealing with all this uncertain process that leaves you in the dark. I would say that you could probably get it moved to a later date but as far as expediting the process I doubt you will have much success with that route. Congratulations on the baby and hopefully everything will work out in your favor with your appeal.

@Scottydo thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm hoping my FPEB never actually materializes since what I'm asking to be added as unfitting was an original referred condition. My counsel told me that your appointed JAG can talk to the board and have something informally added, especially if they missed it the first time around. I'm preparing for the worst case scenario, however.

Is the 11 months pregnant a typo??? Because human gestation is only 9 months so I am a bit confused...

I was just seeing if anybody was paying attention...

Actually, I think I transposed the fact that November is the 11th month. Sorry, she'll be 7 months pregnant by then.
