AD Air Force With Narcolepsy.

July 15 : narsum was redone by my
31 July: Went on MPF and found that AFPC came back with the decision of a ALC C2 code for my narcolepsy. Reviewed the packet that was sent up by my pcm and wow it was missing so much information and also had incorrect information.

As of right now i got in contact with the patient advocate and contacted the ODC for some assistance in this. With that i have an appointment with a new pcm to try and redo the packet. Very disappointed with how i was treated during my process.
correction 31 may

15 July: new PCM made a whole new narsum with correct information. Was told my package was up at AFPC and it was submitted with the original date. Not to be that guy but does that mean it jumps to the front of the line?

@chaplaincharlie any knowledge on this type of situation thanks in advance!

My doc was awesome, but her NARSUM took the form of a functional disability letter for SSDI. The IPEB made her redo the NARSUM. The total delay was <30 days.

just went on TOL and it says this "Case is returned without action to obtain missing or more current specialty consult information. Specifically need: a Sleep study with Actigraphy from a Military Medical Center to forward to PEB" what does these mean?

It means they want more information before deciding if you sleep issues are unfitting. Actigraphy can provide information about the total sleep time so doctors can know what proportion of sleep time is occupied by lapses in breathing.

thats interesting because I already did a sleep test over night and the day test at my sleep doctor. Thank you for the reply!

You might send a copy of the polysomnography report to the the PEBLO to see if that will suffice.

This exact same thing happened to me today. I had a narcolepsy test done in a hospital sleep clinic and was diagnosed with clear cut classic narcolepsy. The test is the "Gold Standard ". I don't understand why mine was kicked back requesting a Actigraphy. The Actigraphy home test reads no where near the information that the sleep clinic test does. I'm so confused

I'm in the same situation where they are requesting a diagnosis from a MTF after the civilian DR they referred me to made the diagnosis. I'm pretty sure they want us to do another Sleep study/MSLT at a MTF.

I called PEBLO and found out they didn't include my actual sleep lab data in my package "because it was more than 6 months old". They attached my lab results, resubmitted, and AFPC replied back the next day ordering a Full MED on me

I called mine and they said they attached everything... I'm confused now..

Maybe try and see if you can get a copy of what they submitted to AFPC? To verify for yourself...
Come to find out PEBLO didn't send anything some how my PCM sent something to AFPC. So went I left a message for my provider to send the most recent sleep study along with the addendum since the PEBLO said they can't accept any documentation from me.

15NOV: update after running back and forth to walter reed they wanted me to do 3 weeks actigraph then 2 weeks actigraph no meds then MSLT but after the first 3 weeks when i went to walter reed they said they cant do what the tests APFC wants because they dont want me to cut off the meds i am on (ritalin and remeron ssri) they also said it would scew the tests and that i should redo tests after dishchare when it is safe. My PCM has sent my package bac up to AFPC now im a little worried they are ging to come back with a C2 code again. I did get a DX of sleep apnea and Hyperspmnia from watler reed though. has anyone been through this yet? Should i be worried about the C2 code?

In a similar situation, they didn't want to take me off my meds, so they made a note to my pcm to follow up with the meb. Mines was sent up and im just waiting to hear back from afpc now. I didnt do the actigraph or sleep test at walter reed. Ive never been on a C2 code whats that ?

C2 code just means no MEB I have to stay at my base and can be deployed with a waiver if need be.
