FPEB Timeline Question

Hello Team,
My current situation is that I received my DA 199 on 30 MAR 23, rated at 10% DoD and 100% VA. I was hoping to receive 30% DoD for the benefits it would give my family.
During the Medboard process I received a fit for duty assessment from my neurologist and was subsequently recommended as unfit for duty due to migraines. I was rated 50% for my migraines by the VA.
I'm confident that I could initiate a FPEB and get Medical retirement, however with my current health conditions and the fact that my family has already moved away in anticipation of my ETS, I sincerely would like to avoid waiting 6 months for the formal hearing.

I spoke to legal on 31 MAR, my lawyer is confident that we have the medical evidence sufficient for a successful appeal without going all the way to the FPEB scheduled hearing.
Does anyone have any experience with the timeline i can expect between submitting your FPEB and written appeal, and then getting further adjudication regarding whether or not my case will be going all the way to a formal hearing?
Once I get a date for the FPEB hearing I will post here!

Stick around long enough for the appeal no matter how long it takes, your future self will thank you.

So if you appeal do you get to move in with your life and wait and still get orders?

Unfortunately not, you’re waiting in service. From what I’ve seen your opportunities to get out and wait are very limited.
I’ve been told that if your evidence for the appeal is strong there is a good chance that the IPEB will consider your written appeal and if it’s accepted you won’t have to wait for the formal board date.

So what happened?
