Is anyone out there familiar with this form and could assist me in filling it out correctly/thoroughly? I need to do this within 2 days and with no direction, I worry I may "miss the boat"...or does it really matter? This is to assist myself and the ODC to figure out if I should go the IDES or LDES route. Thank you...

When I say through my legal brief the counsel that was briefing our group recommended everyone to go IDES!!!

I would say that’s what over 90 percent of the folks on here deal with it are enrolled in IDES.

LDES is rarely recommended. There are less safeguards for the member.

Yeah I wanna say one of the main things that stuck out during my brief in the differences between the two was LDES needed command approval to go through LDES, that right there is a headache on its own!

Oh wow okay, thank you all! So should I still fill out that sheet for the ODC to assist me in the process overall? Background: MEB d/t IBS unspecified that began years ago during a deployment (ironically my sister was just dx with UC a month ago, and shes a few years old than I). I have found over the years that sticking to a strict diet has been my godsend and was coded as DWL for a year which triggered the MEB. I was surprised to find out they recommended the full MEB (everyone i Talked to said I likely would be RTD maybe with a code for CONUS only deployments with normal food options). My NARSUM basically states that condition with one additional that recently came up. I personally very much WANT to stay in (almost 15 years TAFMS, 21+ years total guard), as this has been my life career and hate to think I have to be forced out now. I want to fight it but my CIS stated non retain due to non deployability worldwide (which I get from their perspective). Any adivce at all is very much welcomed!!

Okay, so it sounds like you may be reserve??? You mentioned 21 total guard. I’m not that knowledgeable when it comes to reserve, but there are other regulars on here that can chime in when it comes to your situation.

My advice would be you have to do what’s best for YOU!!! when it comes to medical most of the times that takes a toll and in my eyes your health comes first.

If you want to fight it and think you can! Then by all means go for it!! There are a couple of attorneys on this forum. But that comes at a price!!! But that’s what they live/breathe and are the subject matter aspect. I can give you there contact info in a separate message.

I could go on and on but don’t want you reading for days.

I am just trying to be an advocate for others, share my story, experience and offer advice.

Currently going on 4 months into my MEDBOARD, and my case was just forwarded up to the PEB.

Feel free to hit me up.

All the best
