As the title says, I will have a once in a lifetime event during my 31 days of VA Exams due to this insane AFPC delay that has put my timeline back two months.

I am the MOH in my sister wedding. My PEBLO keeps telling me that if I tell the VA that I have approved leave then they will force me to do the LDES. I find it hard to believe that they won’t work with me over missing a couple days for my sisters wedding. I have my initial meeting with my PEBLO tomorrow and need to let her know if I’m taking the leave or not. Does anyone have experience with this? Any help is appreciated, I have been worried sick!

Timeline so far:
26 Nov 25 - notified by PCM of MEB
14 Dec 25 - initial contact with PEBLO
15 Dec 25 - CIS signed (do not retain)
4 Feb 26 - NARSUM submitted to AFPC
27 Mar 26 - Addtl info needed
1 April 26 - addtl info submitted
2 April 26 - Full MEB directed
3 April 26- initial meeting with PEBLO

I have not have contact with the MSC yet.

7-13 April: approved leave for sisters bachelorette and shower (I am the host of both events as MOH)
7-10 May: approved leave for sisters wedding

I took out of state leave during the VA exam period, and had specific days I had standing appointments that I could not move. They had no issues. I just gave the leave dates to my PEBLO and said hey I already have leave approved for these dates to go home for the holidays and I just let the VA know and that was kind of the end of it. I heard back from the MSC I think 2-3 weeks after my initial meetiing with my PEBLO and then I didn't have my first VA exam until 3 weeks after that soo I think you may end up being fine.

This is super helpful, thank you!

You can also work with the contracting agency that you get and let them know that you can't be scheduled during certain days. I called mine as soon as I found out which contracting agency it was.

Tom is correct. I recently had two clients- one East Coast, one West Coast - who were each maids of honor for their sisters. In each case, we contacted the contracting agency, and the contractors worked around the disputes at issue. Additionally, re-enrolling you in the iDES is much easier than many of you may know. Your PEBLO is techncally correct that you could potentially be disenrolled. But that really all comes down to resubmitting the case to the VA after you complete your leave. Honestly, though, given that you were just recently enrolled in the IDES, your PEBLO could just delay submission of the case to the MSC.
