Ok, that makes sense. I do have an offset, but it doesn't completely offset my entire DOD retirement. However, I have a combat related disability so as I now understand it, that would preclude me from any tax responsibility? Thanks for the information!

Anyone else ran into the issue of no 1099R this year? DFAS says it is available, but when I login to my account it tells me none has been produced. My medical retirement was based on a 80% DOD disability rating which 70% was PTSD. Will my compensation not be taxable? I just want to be prepared...

So I received my DD214 and everything looks correct. My question is do I need to submit that to the VA or does it automatically get submitted in the IDES process? I can see my claim has moved to step 5 of 8 and I am worried if I submit my 214 it will go back to step 3. Any help is much appreciated.

sorry to hijack but Provis I have a question. I was found 80%dod 90% VA and dd214 says combat related. Would that mean that any residual dod pay would also be tax free? 13.5 afs 25 total years with reserve time.

Received my orders and 214 today. I start terminal leave on the 5th of May. All in all the process wasn't terrible and went about how I'd expect. I do wish my PEBLO was more communicative, as well as, my MSC, but overall they did a good job and it went rather quickly.

Yes, being Army its a little different. Being on Ft. Sill do you work with the Army transition office or is there a Marine Corp office you have to deal with?

I signed on the 16th of April and received my NLT date of 17 July on the 21st of April so it took about five days. I then adjusted my retirement date on the 22nd of April to the 25th of June. I start terminal leave next monday.
