Looking for a calculation on potential CRSC

-high 3
-years of service: 15years, 11 months
-DOD pay: 5160(dfas gross before waiver)
-VA monthly: 2820.96
-DOD retirement disability %: 90%
-CRSC Disability %:70%

Can anyone let me know what else I would need to get an accurate calculation for this? I submitted my packet in December, but I am just trying to look at the possible benefit I could receive. Thank you. For the record I am married and have three kids.

So the most basic calculation you can do is add up the value of your VA pay + longevity pension. That is the most you can get. Then subtract your VA pay and the leftover DOD pay that you get paid after the VA offset. If the number is positive that is how much you are losing due to VA offset. You get the higher of the difference between that max amount and the CRSC pay which at 70% is about 2k. If the number is 2k you get that amount. If its over 2k you get 2k since you can't get more than the VA pay charts.

Also if you have a high DOD% like yours at 75% it is possible to be maxed out and not get anything for CRSC. If that happens you have already maxed out income and CRSC won't help. CRSC is there to help with Soldiers that lose money due to their VA offset because they didn't reach 20 years.

Looks like you were warrant officer or officer. If you are legacy pension then rounding up to 40% is your earned pension value. Your HIGH 3 is $6,880. So the value of your earned pension is: $2,752. Your VA pay is $2,821. So the most you can get is: $5,573. You get total $5,160. So $5,573 -$5,160 = $413. I did round up slightly so CRSC should be $400. If you chose BRS then your pension value % is 32%. If that is the case then your CRSC will be zero because your pension would be worth $550 less and you would be getting slightly more from VA pay and chapter 61 pay than you would get if you were paid your earned pension + VA pay.

Thanks for the reply! That makes a lot of sense and heck approximately $413 a month would be worth it.
