Referred to MEB, but need hip surgery

Thanks. I'm already on my way to the MEB though...my packet will be ready in the next month. I was MAR2'd (and recommended for MEB). My hip isn't my only disqualifying condition. I imagine that post-surgery it's possible that I would be able to do my job in that regard, but I'd still be dq'd for...

Referred to MEB, but need hip surgery

Hi, I recently went to the MAR2 and was referred to the MEB by my State Surgeon. I'm 70 VA, rating with back, knee, hip, BH, and wrist pain. I happen to be a title 32 tech, so there's a whole other side to my situation. However, I'm considering having hip surgery sooner rather than later after...

MEB for Title 32 Army Guard Technician

Hi, I just hit twenty good years this past weekend at drill. My RPAM statement states I have 4238 active points for retirement. I have 2 years 9 months of qualifying periods due to deployments. I have 70% VA disability for the following conditions: back pain (20%), R knee (10%), L knee (0%), R...

    Title 32 Tech Disability Retirement

What exactly is MRT? Is that the same as minimum retirement age (which for me is 57 since I was only hired as a tech in 2014.) ? If it is, I'm only 44 with 10 yrs service (once you include my buyback time) as of this November. Also, what's PL disability? I'm probably just using slightly...

    Title 32 Tech Disability Retirement

Thanks for your response. I know it gets complicated. Here's some more info on my situation: ~4250 active points toward retirement, National Guard drilling Soldier, work as a tech for National Guard as a Nurse, 70 % VA disability. currently on profile X 90 days. hit 20 good years this coming...

    Title 32 Tech Disability Retirement

Hi, I'll be going down the MEB/PEB road within the next year. I'm 44. Title 32 tech, ~4250 points, 70% VA disability. I have just over 3 years qualifying years so I could take my reserve retirement at 57. Hoping I'll end up with 30% from DoD. Whatever will be will be, but I'm trying to figure...

    High-3 calculation when medically retired

Question. I'm not in the process just yet, but I'm likely going through the MAR2 in the next 9-12 months as I know I'm non-deployable when I consider any more austere environment (which at this point means anywhere without memory foam bed, lots of car/place travel, wearing gear, and possibly...

Title 32 Technician Medical Retirement Scenarios (Please limit posts to "Technician Medical Retirements")

Thanks. I had drill this weekend and was away from my technology:) Glad you at least made it through your 15 year mark. Still seacrhing around on the life insurance side. May do VGLI from when I get out until 55- or 60 just for piece of mine. That said, you never know where I'll end up working...

Title 32 Technician Medical Retirement Scenarios (Please limit posts to "Technician Medical Retirements")

OK, it's been awhile. COVID actually helped me stick it out a little longer. I'll hit my 20 years in December 2021 of Guard service (with 4200 points). I've read through all the previous thread regarding my situation, but just wanted to try to clarify things once again. I'm looking at worst case...

Risk of doing MEB now- title 32 tech

No. I've had low grade Ortho issues since a car accident about a year after I enlisted. Always did ok and watched what I did to a good degree. Hate to say my kids did me in, but I have 2 that are 4 and 2 yrs old. Activity has decreased, and conditions have gotten worse. Still manage about 260 on...

What does 30 percent mean as far as retirement, benefits,...? Is there a threshold for different benefits?

Risk of doing MEB now- title 32 tech

Have the lumbar spine MRI. Moderate stenosis. degenerative disk disease. The unfitting will likely be my back and hip. I'm pending a claim for anxiety disorder. That's should have a rating by April. That will likely be unfitting as well.

Significant difference? I just hope I don't go in with 60 on the VA side and come back with 10 or 20 on the mil side.
