Hi,

I'm a Title 32 Army National Guard technician that is entering the MEB process. I was MAR2'd at the State level in March of 2022 and recommended to pursue an MEB with the State prepping my packet. The online platform that submits my packet to the MEB (called MEB Prep in the MEDCHART platform) apparently takes quite a bit of attention to move the packet forward. I think I'm currently ready to move forward as I'm just submitting my Separation Health Assessment DBQ Part A now. I had to resubmit my LES, update Commander's Statements, provide new OERs,...almost continuously to keep my packet moving forward over the past 6 months. It's a little strange that I have to submit an LES every month for drill.

I'm currently 70% VA rated since 2019. I'm sure I'll need to go through C&P exams again. I'm just wondering on timelines from here on out. I was told 12-18 months a year ago and I've barely moved. I'm a nurse in the Guard, so I'm somewhat familiar with the process overall. Assuming my packet is now ready to move forward, I'm hoping 12 months is most likely.

My real question is how long does it take once I get my 199 to when my HRO for my technician position acts on my discharge and terminates my tech employment? Also, with a disability retirement will I see any compensation on the Army side prior to 60? I have 21+ good years of which 7 are active duty time (4350 total points and counting). Will I get a DoD check prior to 60 due to the disability retirement even though I don't have 20 years active duty, or do I wait? That's the part I still don't quite understand. I know how it works for my technician job. I'm pretty sure I'll be rated over 50% DoD.

I'm just trying to figure out what my newfound pay gap will be when all is said and done.

Thanks.

Fellow WI Guard here. You’ll get only your VA disability until you hit 60, and then you’ll get both. There are ways such as if you have deployment or other Title 10 time on active duty to start getting your pension sooner. I would REALLY like to ask you a few questions about your process, as I am about to go through the same thing. Would a DM be okay?

Check this thread out, it’s my timeline with others that had started it, very informative.
