Thanks Ron, very helpful. I will have HRC take a look as I do not want to end up a few weeks short. My command will endorse a COAD to get me to the 20. It may be better to be safe.

I would like a quote and some clarification on DA PAM 635-40 section 3-12, as it relates to counting inactive duty points and membership points for eligibility for a disability retirement.
I am an AGR Soldier, CW5, 31 years of service, going through the MED Board process which started 15 Jan...
VA website shows closed, but nothing on e-benefits yet. PEBLO says he has received nothing yet. VA indicated they sent a letter to me. So, waiting on that communication or if it will show up on e-benefits which I check daily. It has only been a couple of days....
my timeline is about one week behind yours. Received my unfit memo last week. However when I look at the dashboard, it says the VA rating portion is complete. my PEBLO says he has received nothing yet.
I received my unfit memo last week. Awaiting ratings. the unfit was only for Chronic Kidney Disease. Will see if I get the 60%. Will let the forum know.
I have been found unfit for the following.
a. Chronic kidney disease. (MEB Dx 1) (V1-N; V3-N; V4-N)
trying to look up the codes to the right. MEB Dx1. Is this an additional unfit finding? If so, does that mean I will get a DOD rating for this also?
i do not know what others will say, but I recommend getting 20 years. If you do, you can get your retirement as well as your VA disability %. At least that is the way I understand it.
I got the feeling that I will need to do the same thing. my Lawyer thought I would get a low or even zero DOD for CKD phase III. Said my test were not high enough. My research shows that I meet the conditions for 60%. my informal PEB took 8 days, but I do not have a percentage or notification...
I see. My GFR ranges from 72 to 56 on Tests over the last year. The examiner used a test that was 72 from Jan. However several tests later showed as low as 56. He seemed to think they will only use the last test by the examiner. If that is the case, I will appeal to show new tests. Unless of...
I am now fully in the PEB process. Signed the NARSUM yesterday. had conference with the JAG. He thinks I will get a low DOD percentage due to not having high abnormal labs. Doctors say I am at stage III, and VA examiner checked yes for renal dysfunction. I interpret this as a definite decrease...
Thanks, that is what I read. it is where I got the 60% from. Because it says "OR", and my records show a definite decrease in kidney function. If I get less than that from DOD, can I appeal it? or can I only appeal the VA?
