When I went through IDES, myPers was utilized instead of myFSS. I didn't use myFSS until last year when I was moved from TDRL to PDRL. Check my timeline for notification info. I went through IDES two years ago.
The FL4 is a document from the Air Force Personnel Center Medical Standards office. It has instructions telling my base that I require a full MEB. Additionally, it stated my base had two months to complete the full MEB, and get the case to the IPEB.
My application was already completed. I guess I should have worded that better. It currently says on the Social Security website "We have processed 77% of your application".
I had a similar situation in terms of receiving the documents. I received them 3 days before the suspense date. I ended up sending the documents via priority mail. That was almost a month ago. I submitted my SSDI application online in Dec 2021. I was already expecting it to take a year, so I'm...
I would talk with your PCM regarding ANY medical issues that you have. Regardless of whether those conditions seem mild or major. I talked to my PCM about issues that I had been neglecting for a while. For example, I had ringing in my right ear for a number of years. I didn't talk to my PCM...
As far as people getting denied, I think it is a combination of what you mentioned. In regard to my case being expedited, I'm not sure if it is actually being processed as expedited. My wounded warrior representative told me to specify in my application that I am a wounded warrior, which I did...
Mine has been at the DDS decision phase since Mar 2022. I told the DDS in my current state that I am moving to another state next month. They said my case can be transferred to my new state DDS office. That will probably prolong the process. However, I was mentally prepared for the process to...
Supposedly, your SSDI application can be expedited if you are an Air Force Wounded Warrior (AFW2). That's what my AFW2 representative told me.
I specified that I am an AFW2 on my SSDI application that I submitted online in Dec 2021. As of today, the Social Security website says my application...
Exactly, that leave helps you transition to civilian life. You have the autonomy to move wherever you want, start a new job, etc. and still receive active duty pay while on leave.
I can understand wanting to get out. However, even if you take PTDY and terminal leave, you're essentially out. You're not going to be called in to work or deploy. And you can move wherever you want.
You're absolutely right. That's why I didn't appeal the TDRL decision because it would not have been worth it. I'm grateful that I was Med Boarded with over 21 years of service, so I had nothing to lose.
I agree. I know that compensation wise I'll be fine. I was just very surprised and upset about being placed on TDRL. Initially I was going to appeal, but didn't think it was worth it. Also, I didn't want to prolong the IDES process. I feel like being on TDRL that I'm not totally free from the...
I would advise that you be proactive in terms of staying in contact with your PEBLO throughout the process. Log on to myPers and go to the retirement section then click on disabilities. There is a lot of good info on there about the IDES process. Also, I would log onto tricareonline and download...
I was placed on TDRL at 70% DoD and about 22 years Active Duty service. The Air Force claimed that my MDD recurrent severe wasn't stable yet. I thought I would be placed on PDRL and was disappointed about TDRL. However, my therapist recently stated that they feel my condition is stable now. I...
