Received this from my PEBLO today: "your current status at the PEB is # 7 in the Medical Officer Que for cases at Walter Reed. Walter reed currently has 124 cases at the PEB, of that 124 case 87 are sitting in the medical Officer Que. USN/USMC wide there are 5003 cases at the PEB, of that...

    How long should I expect?

Yeah, definitely hard to understand when or if the first in first out process begins when you see older cases still waiting while newer cases get findings. PEB is all jacked up

    How long should I expect?

I think the date our cases were sent to the PEB isn't the best metric to go by because some cases take longer than others to get screened for completeness before ending up in the medical officer queue. I'm not sure how long my case has been in the medical officer queue but I imagine it's maybe a...

    How long should I expect?

I'm at 158 days with the PEB and today my PEBLO said he'd be surprised if I receive findings before early November. Math for Marines tells me that my retirement date would be around 28 Feb 2022 if I receive findings the first half of November. One can only hope

Really sorry to hear you had to turn down a job offer. I've had to do that a few times too. I did get a bit lucky though and one company allowed me to accept a job offer without a start date after I explained to them the situation with the PEB. They check in with me once a week to see if I've...

    IDES Timeline

Has anyone on here received a response from an IG complaint or from their congressional representative? If so, would you be willing to share them with me after redacting personal information? I've been speaking with a lawyer that has some contacts he believes can help put pressure on the PEB to...

    Current Time Line A/D USMC

So, I don't see anything in the order that allows for a Marine to go home before the PEB has made a determination. The outbound seps page, the Marine Corps Leave and Liberty Policy, and the Marine Corps Separation Manual all state that a Marine must be found unfit and accept those findings to be...

    Current Time Line A/D USMC

Definitely an uncommon situation to go the admin sep route but here is a a reference that could maybe help you advocate for that outcome "MILPERSMAN 1900-120 SEPARATION BY REASON OF CONVENIENCE OF THE GOVERNMENT - MEDICAL CONDITIONS NOT AMOUNTING TO A DISABILITY" This reference has two...

@downandoutsailor21 Are you saying you wish you'd just separated when your current contract had ended instead of being in IDES and having your contract extended? I know two Marines in my command were able to withdraw from the IDES process in order to EAS because they felt it was the better...

    My Timeline

I feel you. I had PCS orders even though they never should have been issued. Got them delayed twice before they finally decided to cancel them. Now a ton of people are unhappy because someone else in my command is getting the orders I had and has to execute NLT 30 Nov. And it just trickles down...

    Current Time Line A/D USMC

yeah, definitely difficult to get accurate/reliable information on how big the backlog is/was. I know a lot of cases went to the PEB in April/May because QTC started doing exams again in Jan/Feb so that coupled with the PEB letting all their people leave without replacements really messed up...

That would be amazing. I know things are slowly picking up but if the numbers my PEBLO shared with me are accurate there are still over 1000 cases in front of mine as of yesterday.

Mine went up 14 May so hopefully they get back with my findings before everyone goes on leave for the holidays.

Glad to hear you have some good news. Hope the findings are what you wanted. When did your case go to the PEB?

Med board for Major Depression, but what about the rest of my medical record?

Best of luck as you navigate this process. I hope you get the outcome that is best for you and your circumstances.

Med board for Major Depression, but what about the rest of my medical record?

This applies only to Marines. Pretty sure Navy also discontinued TERA option somewhat recently. Marine TERA runs through December 31, 2025 unless otherwise rescinded
  17. J

Med board for Major Depression, but what about the rest of my medical record?

Correct, Under the current TERA a Marine must be found unfit by the PEB, waive the findings of the PEB, and request early retirement. If disapproved the Marine must execute the disposition of the board and (medical separation or medical retirement). From what I have seen, Marines requesting TERA...

Med board for Major Depression, but what about the rest of my medical record?

@Gizzy You can receive both VA compensation and military pension before reaching 20 years of service if you are retired under an early retirement authorization. Not sure what branch you are in but the Marine Corps currently has an active early retirement authorization for those that have served...
