Medically retired, Tricare Prime locked in rate...new job healthcare insurance

Are they still pushing for us to pay a premium? Last I heard it was close to $1k a year for a family.

If you are DOD TDRL/PDRL retired with less than 20 years of service please read.

Doesn't look like it's gonna happen, but it'd be nice to have the extra money if I'm going to end up paying close to $1,000 a year to keep Tricare Select.

I'm seeing that there is some confusion on whether this was actually included in the bill or not.

    Medical Marijuana?

I'd use illegal cannabis all day over synthetic or any other cannabis manufactured by pharmaceutical companies.

    USAFR Code 37 Typical Timeline

Did your injury/illness initially occur while on AD orders? I imagine that makes a difference in which way this goes. Again, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will eventually chime in.

    USAFR Code 37 Typical Timeline

I'm not as knowledgeable as others on this subject, but I'm curious to hear what others have to say. Was there any AD time in correlation to your disability rating or just ANG?

Permanent DoD. What happens if I say Piss off to the VA?

Aww, that makes sense. I was speaking more about compensation than healthcare. I actually sent the VA a letter about a year ago telling them I'm done with their "health care" due to the quality of it.

Permanent DoD. What happens if I say Piss off to the VA?

I wasn't aware that one was required to see the VA once a year to maintain benefits. Is that true?

I wonder what the numbers look like in regards to early regular retirees versus Ch61 retirees. I would think that the # of Ch61 folks would be significantly higher, but who knows?

Voc Rehab Re-Apply or Appeal & Degree Choice Question

Yeah, I kind of figured that, but I guess I should use most of my GI Bill first anyways for now. Do you think I can just reapply or do you think I'll have to appeal?

Voc Rehab Re-Apply or Appeal & Degree Choice Question

First & foremost, I hope y'all are having some wonderful holidays!! I was hoping maybe some of you guys/gals that are familiar with Voc Rehab could lend some advice.... :) 1. About a year to year and half ago, I applied for Voc Rehab but was denied due to being on SSDI. The counselor said that...

    Voc Rehab!

Thanks for vidoes on your experience! Don't know how accurate/legal this is, but just a heads up for those in same boat as I. I am 100% P&T getting SSDI. When I applied for VocRehab and had my first (and only) appt, the counselor told me that nobody on SSDI can qualify for VocRehab. I've...

    Ménière's

Perm retired Oct 2014 with Meniere's @ 100% P&T. Was really surprised that the VA said it was P&T. Most cases of meniere's eventually subside. Still waiting for that to happen for me... :( BTW, I was a reservist on orders. Symptoms started just a few weeks after I started the orders and they...

    UCMJ in retiree status?

If someone (especially a stranger) is being hostile in your direction, you have every right to try to get away from that person (even if it's during the playing of the anthem). Safety first!
