I was referred for NoN-duty PEB

There’s an email that your sent, the paralegal will get the package and then set you up with a telephone appointment with the attorney. You have to be at the ready and have all your questions drafted prior to the call (at least that the way I did mine). I had a buddy who couldn’t get a hold of...

I was referred for NoN-duty PEB

Fort Gordon is the reserve legal aid which I was referred to it’s not easy to get a hold of them, but I was able to snatch a good attorney. https://ga.ng.mil/portals/49/g1/documents/MEDICAL/10DES/MEB%20PEB%20Brochure%20RC%20Gordon%20(JAN2020).pdf

Does CH 61 retirement automatically change to RC retirement at age 60?

Thank you for that answer. Relieves some stress. It’s interesting how this community is so much more informative and helpful than DFAS or HRC. I’m very grateful to have access to this forum

Is Medical Retirement Considered Gray Area Until 60?

This was a question I had and needed information. I was Ch 61 and retired at age 47. My High 3 is $5099, VA is $4870, the residual is ~$220, just granted CRSC $1568 Basically in my case, I have already maxed out DOD, maxed VA, and maxed CRSC (for longevity) at my current age 48. Therefore, it...

Does CH 61 retirement automatically change to RC retirement at age 60?

For those medical retirees. If you get a medical retirement prior to the age of 60 (which would be the RC retirement age) what happens at age 60? As a medical retiree let’s see I max out at 75% DOD retirement at that percentage let’s say my monthly retirement is 4000 a month. However based on...

    CRSC Estimate please

Alcon, I wanted to give you an update on the actual conclusions. Applied for CRSC 9/19/24 to Army HRC via email. Received email from HRC stating they received application 9/19/24. CRSC approval on 1/7/25 via snail mail. Loaded to iperms 1/21/25 (same day I got the snail mail). CRSC granted...

MEB at 20 years or retirement

Thanks for the info. I played the DFAS phone shuffle this morning with DFAS military pay who passed the buck to DFAS retired pay, who passed the buck to DFAS Debt, who passed the buck to SGLI phone, who passed the buck to DEERS/milconnect. Already opened DFAS ticket also and emailed SGLI. I'll...

MEB at 20 years or retirement

Question about SGLI. I was medically retired Jul 28 2024. It’s now Dec 2024 and I checked DFAS and I am seeing a debt for SGLI monthly premiums as if I was still in. How can I be retired and still paying SGLI? My DEERS and ID shows retired and out processed. Any ideas?

MEB Timeline Fort Bliss (Lower Back)

NARSUM was quick after CPs. March for MEB. VA ratings were 6/6/24, two weeks later I got my PEB Findings. Reservist (TPU) we get “final” VA ratings so they’re not “proposed” ratings like AD. BUT, if you have your VA CPs exams (which your PEBLO send to you) you can go thru them and get an...

MEB Timeline Fort Bliss (Lower Back)

Finished IDES this year. From IDES brief 1/10/24 to PEB Findings (DA 199) 6/21/24. Approx 6 months (without major issues). Requested MEB Appeal for conditions but no PEB appeal. Had a buddy going along the same time frame. His PEB had an appeal that delayed his process another 4 months

Is my off-post Neurosurgeons statement enough for a PA to initiate a meb?

I had similar situation. Went to PT, neurosurgeon etc. Bottom line Neuro said “you’re done”. Surgery was an option, but I didn’t want to give any more. Gave the Army 28 years reserve (6 active). Once I made the decision, I provided medical with my MEB request package. It’s a standard forms. DA...

IDES process and existing/established VA ratings

So if you’re 100 PT for whatever conditions and you’ve only been rated for a year AND your only referred condition is PTSD. Then I would ask the MSC/PEBLO for IDES. When you get to the portion of selecting conditions to add to the VA, since you don’t want to add any, you’ll do a VA 4138(provided...

IDES process and existing/established VA ratings

IF and ONLY IF your REFERRED condition is PTSD then yes you will get a new CP. I was sweating bullets on that one. Luckily I have plenty of VA records and had the rating for about 10 years so it’s considered “stable and static” so it would be very difficult for VA to downgrade. But the...

Army Reserve PDRL and upcoming non-regular retirement

Man that’s an excellent explanation. Thank you. First, based on this forum estimates on CRSC, and anticipating approval of CRSC (which is based on longevity). In my particular situation, yes I do project that my non-regular retirement (CRDP) and CRSC would probably be comparable when...

Army Reserve PDRL and upcoming non-regular retirement

Thanks for all the information you provide, it is been invaluable. I had a question, called DFAS, was transferred around and no one could give me a straight answer. Figure I'd ask the question here. Situation: 28 yos, Army Reserve, E8, 10 yrs 8 months AD for longevity purposes based on...
