I've heard it both ways, so I suppose we'll see in a few days! Close friend of mine started receiving his VA payments right on schedule, even with severance pay, so that may not be entirely correct.

I'm really not sure? It all just moved so fast. If I remember correctly, I received my orders via email from my retirement services office, along with my DD-214 signing date.

I did! I think maybe a day or two early, by talking with my MSC. I saw that my claims had closed on the VA website and called my MSC and he was able to tell me what my DoD/VA ratings were.
