My FPEB was in July 2025. I initially started the IDES in 2021 and was switched to the LDES in 2025.

The current government changes have added time to my case, which is beneficial. My retirement date is 31 Jul 2026. However, I’m still waiting to get scheduled for an appeal hearing.

Looks like hearings are backed up between 6-8 months. What is the likelihood of retirement? A COAD can be requested if the appeal is not effective.

The new AFT allows for soldiers to reclass unless they have over 17 years 3 months of duty left. Then their MOS changes to 09U. Are people pushing this out? I’m not seeing it in my state much. How does this impact the DES process?

I will be in skillsbridge beginning Feb 2026. It seems silly to continue with the DES while I’m not even reporting to the office. How likely are people to get retained in similar situations?
