524 hearing

Good evening,

Does anybody know what the average timeline looks like getting a 524 hearing after a FPEB? I have been fighting my case since Feb 2024 and my formal hearing was Aug 22, 2025. The conditions that they are trying to put me out for have been corrected in my record. Anybody willing to talk and provide some guidance

Hello,

I am in the same boat as you. My referral began in 2021/2022 timeframe. My Formal hearing was in July 2025. I have been waiting for the 524 hearing since August 2025. The shut down took place, and government requests for JAGs to act as immigration judges. I reached out to my Peblo last week and she said there are only a select group of JAGs that conduct the 524 hearings. I am still waiting to get scheduled and then a new attorney will be assigned. I have 7 months left until retirement for AFS. I am being told that if I get my DD 214 90 days out (April) then the MEB process goes away for timelines. Is your plan to stay in or get out? It sounds like the 524 hearings are in limbo right now.
