Am I just being anxious for no reason

I swear depending on who you get on the phone you may get a totally random number thrown at you. People have been told 3 more months only for them to get their findings the next week.
I talked to my PEBLO a couple of days ago and he told me that the PEB doesn't really like to entertain phone calls regarding updates because apparently if they kept answering phone calls, nothing would ever get done with our cases. Unfortunately he just told me that "the PEB is going to take as long as they're going to take". Just providing context.

Its really not worth calling. It appears my case went in to QA on Feb 6th. Hopefully in the next couple weeks things will be finalized.

VA letter was 22JAN but we shall see. Im really hoping to wrap this thing up this week or next. Beyond time to move on.
I feel the same way, on day 47 right now, I haven't seen many cases go past 60, and the magic number a few months ago was 57, so worst case I am 10-13 days away from findings.

A heads up for the folks that are in the process, nearing the end.

Get your DD214 submitted to the VA as soon as you can. Your PEB VA Findings will be resubmitted as a new claim on your actual retirement date if they have your DD214.

Timeline as follows for me from that point:

2/29/2024- Submitted DD214 to VA (I submitted on QuickSubmit and then also faxed it after calling the VA and being told they didn't see it)
3/23/2024- Retirement date// New claim submitted
4/2/2024- Claim showed up in my VA app (Step 3 of 5-- Collecting evidence)
4/9/2024- Claim closed (100% P&T)

I have been told that first payment will be 4/30 (Navy Fed) or 5/1 (Regularly scheduled payment)

Still on the waiting phase as you can tell, but wanted to get that out there as it was one of the major questions that I had remaining as I reached retirement date.

My retirement date is Mar 16, 2024 and Navy still hasn’t sent my retirement orders and other necessary paperwork to DFAS for them to build my profile and process pay. May 1, 2024 should be my first payment date but something tells me I won’t be getting it that day.

So I actually have myPay open in another tab right this very moment. I was actually just trying to figure out if there was a number that I could call to request a status on the switch over.

myPay is showing me as a seperated Navy service member and also a Retiree Navy. My last LES had just over $3600 that was held as a "Status Deter" so I'm assuming at some point I will get that back. Not completely clear on that part yet.

Good morning! For your preliminary unfit finding did your PEBLO give you that information?

My PEBLO was not very helpful throughout the process at all. I’ve seen other folks have the same and different situation here. I got my prelim unfit finding from the PEB phone number directly. They’d told me I was sent for ratings, so therefore I had something that had been found unfit.

As far as the PEBLO goes, it seems to be like everything else in life. Some of them are great and will give all the information as soon as they have it, and some want to do as little as possible. In both situations, keep in mind, it is your case. If you have little interest in getting results ASAP, you will likely find out when you do. If you pursue it with the same passion you likely pursue your career, people tend to pick up on that and give you information that you need.

Thank you for posting this!!! I know I have messaged you before asking you some stuff. I am towards the end of my journey. I got my findings back last Wednesday and I signed for them this Wednesday. How long did it take for you to get your retirement message? My Wounded Warrior Rep is telling me anticipate 10 days and from some of the other local dates I have seen they actually seem to line up. Then from that date usually 45 days after to be fully retired!?!

From what I am reading it seems like everything has gone somewhat smooth for you!?!?!

Any tips or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have already started to get all my paper work pre-staged and I am
Pretty much done. My intent is to hand in my paper work the day my retirement message is release through PERS

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you firstly.

Sounds like you are doing what you have to do. My retirement message came in really quickly. I think it may have been 3-5 days is all. I would suggest you begin doing all that you can for the separation process, completing the worksheet for your DD214, and working towards getting your check out started with medical and all of the different departments in your command that have purview on you.

If you have enough leave in the bank, I'd work on getting a terminal chit together so that as soon as you receive your message, you can update it with a separation date and send it. I ended up having to sell back 7.5 days of leave (which I have yet to see any money from), because I didn't have enough time between the message and the NLT date on the retirement orders.

Thanks for getting back to me! No worries at all, I know you’re living your best life now that you’re done with everything! Congrats!

Yes, I have all my paper work pre-staged ready to drop once I get my retirement message!! Eagerly awaiting that. Good to know you got yours super quick! Hopefully the same!!!

Has there been any hiccups with DFAS, as far as there auditing process!?!? Did they send you a method A, B payment for your pension?

DFAS seems to be a different beast altogether. I just received my first VA payment today. It closed mid month April, so that’s good. I’ve talked with DFAS a couple of times on their customer service line. The Navy apparently takes quite awhile to finish their audit. I was told to be prepared for a 3-6 month wait for its completion.

Damn 3-6 months goodness. Yeah my wounded warrior rep was telling me 45-90 days, but that’s just outrageous. Did you get back pay on you VA from your retirement day via your DD214? Hopefully that made sense/reads right!?!?

I have a few grand being held by the Navy still. My VA payment just was payed as a full month.

Gotcha! Well at least the VA moved pretty quick. Yeah well I would that you would get back pay from DFAS then from the day you separated?
